    Leicester v Brighton (19:45 GMT)

From the outside, it appears there is an issue at Leicester with player power, and the amount of influence some individuals have.

Whether or not that played a part in Claude Puel leaving, I am expecting to see a reaction from the Leicester players on Tuesday, and I also expect them to win - that is the way football works.

    Prediction: 2-0

    Leicester City

Leicester caretaker boss Mike Stowell: "It’s a fantastic appointment. We’ve just told the boys in there, they’re excited. We’re focused on Brighton but you couldn’t stop them being a bit giddy beforehand. That’ll settle down. They’ll meet with the manager after the game."

Has it been difficult preparing for this game?

"No. They're good, professional players. The game coming so quickly has helped us. It’s just getting them ready. They’re ready for this game."

    What needs to change?

"We’ve got to cut out silly mistakes and conceding first. They’ve been playing expansive football, getting countered and not shutting the back door. We’ll try to address those tonight – and send them out to express themselves."

Leicester's caretaker managerial duo today are Mike Stowell and Adam Sadler.

This is former Wolves goalkeeper Stowell's fifth time in caretaker charge, briefly standing in for Martin Allen, Paulo Sousa, Sven-Goran Eriksson and - along with Craig Shakespare - Claudio Ranieri.

Sadler, not the American comedian, never had a proper professional playing career and joined Leicester in 2014 as a tactical analyst before becoming first-team coach this summer.

Brendan Rodgers has just got a nice round of applause from the Leicester fans. He's in the stands today, not the dugout.

  5. 'Need to score more'published at 19:41 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2019

    Leicester v Brighton (19:45 GMT)

Former Brighton striker Warren Aspinall on BBC Sussex: "We need to focus on ourselves tonight. We've had some good performances, but not got the results.

"We've not won in the league this year, and we're in a battle now. We need to score more goals and keep clean sheets."

The focus may be on Leicester tonight but it's well worth pointing out that Brighton have picked up just six points from their last 33 available in the Premier League (W1 D3 L7), with the Seagulls winning none of their six games so far in 2019 (D2 L4).

  7. Brighton's worrying slidepublished at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2019

    Leicester v Brighton (19:45 GMT)

Brighton have picked up two points from their six games in 2019.

They were 11 points clear of the relegation zone when they beat Everton 29 December - but the gap is down to three points now.

"We need to be in this league next season," said boss Chris Hughton.

“So much hard work went into getting the club here - that happened over a number of years, and even before I got here four years ago, the club had missed out narrowly in the play-offs.

“If you look at the league below, and even the third tier, you have teams in those divisions who have been regular and consistent Premier League teams and there’s no guarantee you’ll come back up."

Brendan Rodgers would have hoped for a top-six club in England, but that was never going to happen. Of the next six in the table, the Leicester job is as good as any and better than most. This is an underperforming, unhappy team, a club with an admirable squad that's currently sitting only eight points above a relegation spot despite having spent more than £100m on players in the summer and another £186m in the three summers before that.

They've had the dour, deflating Frenchman, Claude Puel, in charge and he's changed the way they play, from the speed and effervescence of their Premier League-winning season to something more slow-paced and failing.

Rodgers' philosophy and personality is what they feel they need. It's exactly what Celtic felt they needed when bringing him to Glasgow in the first place.

  9. 'Leicester player reactions will be fascinating'published at 19:36 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2019

Suddenly, this fixture has a very different look about it.

The Leicester fans have certainly got their wish with the dismissal of Claude Puel. What will now be fascinating is the reaction of their players after the Frenchman's 16 months in charge.

Ultimately, seven defeats from nine games forced the issue - and four straight home defeats have been damaging.

Brighton certainly won't have welcomed the news or some of the results from the weekend. One point from the last 15 has left them suddenly nervously looking over their shoulder.

They must hope the change of manager doesn't bring a change in fortunes for the Foxes.

BRENDAN RODGERS' Leicester* make two changes from the final game of Claude Puel's reign. Ben Chilwell is back from a knock, replacing Christian Fuchs, and Demarai Gray replaces Rachid Ghezzal.

Lewis Dunk and Glenn Murray are back from injury for Brighton.

They were last in action 10 days ago in the FA Cup so make eight changes from that game.

Pascal Gross, Solly March and Davy Propper are among the names to come back in. Jurgen Locadia and Jose Izquierdo are on the bench.

  11. 'Rodgers is a great fit'published at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2019

    Tony Pulis
Middlesbrough manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

The first thing Brendan Rodgers has got to do is win. He has got to find a way at the beginning - what are the strengths and the best way of playing for this squad? Then in the next three months he can decide what he needs to bring in and who he feels is necessary for how he wants to play. When he was at Liverpool they were unfortunate not to win the league, I think it is a great fit.
