    Leeds 1-0 West Brom

Oh my goodness me - Leeds goalkeeper Kiko Casilla is heading balls clear 30 yards from his own line! It almost goes horribly wrong, but Leeds concede a free-kick near halfway to end any immediate threat.

That came just after Kalvin Phillips tested Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who grabbed onto his long-range shot from outside the area.

    Leeds 1-0 West Brom

West Brom, who have won eight of their past nine away league matches, will be looking to get a grip on this match as soon as possible.

Gareth Barry whips in a free-kick from out wide but it's floated straight into the arms of goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.

Paul Hughes: Been dreading this one but Hernandez has settled my jitters, for now.

Daniel Stevanato: Adarabioyo wants dropping and fining a fortnight's wages. He's literally just standing idly by waiting for and allowing Hernandez to have a completely free shot. It's an excellent finish but my word, that is utter, utter garbage from the defender.

And you don't want to give Pablo Hernandez time and space on the edge of your own box, that's for sure.

Almost a Leeds second for ex-Albion man Tyler Roberts.

Goalscorer Pablo Hernandez slots a low ball into the box and Roberts turns it towards goal from eight yards, but Sam Johnstone is well positioned to gather the ball.

This is more like it from Leeds - more like the Leeds that swept almost all before them in the first three or four months of this season.

West Brom are seeing plenty of the ball but they aren't being given a moment's peace by a swarm of white shirts and are coughing up possession under huge home pressure.

Will it also be the date that his Leeds side head back to the top of the Championship table? Early days, but they're on course so far.

    Leeds 1-0 West Brom

That early Pablo Hernandez goal stands a chance of being the quickest in the Championship this season - I'm sure we'll have confirmation of that either way soon.

In the meantime, there are appeals for a Leeds penalty from the home crowd as Mateusz Klich tumbles in the box, but Baggies full-back Mason Holgate had pulled out of the challenge. No spot-kick.

How do Albion respond to that? They earn a free-kick in a great position as Hal Robson-Kanu is brought down.

Dwight Gayle's effort takes a flick off the Leeds wall and out for a corner.

WELL THAT'S SOME WAY TO START! A GOAL AFTER 16 SECONDS!

Leeds win the ball straight from the kick-off, they break down the left touchline and it's passed infield to Pablo Hernandez.

The little Spaniard takes aim from 25 yards and fires brilliantly into the top corner. Sam Johnstone had no chance.

Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa: "The players are not responsible for the difficulties we have. I am responsible for everything because I have the support of the players and the club.

"I receive everything I need from the players, the club and all the staff.

"When you see the glass is half empty, you lose optimism. And when you see the glass is half full, you lose self-criticism. We need to have a co-ordination between both."

West Bromwich Albion head coach Darren Moore: "I'm just trying to get my head down and win games. The division is wide open. It was always going to be a competitive division.

"All the teams are capable of winning, and that's just the division. You can't predict it. It'll ebb and flow until the last kick of the season, and we're one of the teams competing.

"Friday is an exciting game. Both teams go head to head and both teams like to attack."

Leeds v West Brom (19:45 GMT)

Leeds didn't have too many off-days in the first half of this Championship season, but their game at The Hawthorns in November was certainly one of them.

West Brom only had 28% possession but eased to a 4-1 win, helped by some indifferent Leeds defending.

The result started a nine-game unbeaten run for the Baggies, while it also sparked a seven-match winning sequence for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

It’s difficult to write about a match involving Leeds and West Bromwich Albion at Elland Road without mentioning THAT goal by Jeff Astle in 1971.

Referee Ray Tinkler gave an Albion goal that Leeds believed was clearly offside.

Fans invaded the pitch and even manager Don Revie went onto the field to plead Leeds’ case. But the goal was allowed to stand, Leeds lost the match and ended up missing out on the league title.

    More drama like this tonight?

Leeds have named an unchanged team from the one that lost to QPR on Tuesday - just as head coach Marcelo Bielsa told us in yesterday's press conference.

West Bromwich Albion had concerns over defender Ahmed Hegazi, winger Jacob Murphy and striker Hal Robson-Kanu - Hegazi and Robson-Kanu start, while Murphy is fit enough for a place on the bench.

Kieran Gibbs and Matt Phillips are missing for Albion, though.

Leeds: Casilla, Ayling, Cooper, Jansson, Alioski, Phillips, Hernandez, Roberts, Klich, Harrison, Bamford.

West Brom: Johnstone, Adarabioyo, Dawson, Hegazi, Holgate, Livermore, Barry, Harper, Robson-Kanu, Gayle, Rodriguez.

Twelve games left and the top four clubs are only separated by six points.

Norwich City and Sheffield United occupy the Championship's top two spots, and tonight we'll see their two main rivals for automatic promotion.

Getting a victory is all-important for both clubs. A defeat won't put either side out of the race, but will certainly damage their Premier League prospects.
