    Middlesbrough 0-1 Norwich

It was a year ago today that Wolves went to Middlesbrough as Championship leaders and came away with a crucial win that all but confirmed their promotion, despite playing the final few minutes with nine men.

The Canaries have all 11 on the pitch, but this could have the same galvanising effect on them if they can hang on to (or extend) their lead.

In the meantime, Boro sub Stewart Downing is booked for bringing down Max Aarons.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Norwich

Matt Newsum: Norwich should have points deducted for that kit. Looks like they been dayglo paint balling.

An unconventional points deduction like that might help some of their competitors at the top - Norwich are looking good value for a Premier League place right now.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Norwich

Norwich are on top now. Teemu Pukki goes through again and his shot takes a huge deflection off Aden Flint.

    Goal kick.

    Work that one out.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 60 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Norwich

Watch out for the threat of Norwich on the counter-attack now. They charge forward quickly from defending a corner and Ryan Shotton concedes a foul to stop them in their tracks.

Boro are bringing on Stewart Downing for Daniel Ayala. A change of system for the hosts on the way, I'm sure.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Norwich

How do Middlesbrough respond to that Norwich opener?

They've been the better side for spells in this one, but they'll be heading for a fourth successive defeat unless they can find an equaliser.

  6. goal

GOAL: Middlesbrough 0-1 Norwichpublished at 54 mins

    Onel Hernandez

Norwich go in front! They could be about to open up a seven-point gap to third-placed Sheffield United and take another giant step closer to the Premier League.

Middlesbrough only have themselves to blame. They had plenty of chances to get the ball clear, and Onel Hernandez makes them pay with a loveIy low shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

Hernandez is booked for his celebration. He won't care.

  7. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Norwich

Norwich have a good spell with the ball and Emi Buendia tries to round it off with the goal, but his shot is well blocked by two Middlesbrough defenders.

    FT: Leeds 3-2 Millwall

    Marcelo BielsaImage source, Rex Features

It's fair to say that Leeds did it the hard way today as they moved up to second after coming from behind twice to beat Millwall.

Their move back into the automatic promotion places came by virtue of Sheffield United losing to Bristol City, but boss Marcelo Bielsa says they must focus on themselves.

"Every game we play we can't be thinking about the result of any other team," Bielsa said in his post-match interview.

"Some days we have to spend more time than we usually would need to spend to get what we deserve.

"We never feel we are going to lose. We insist on trying to change the result by keeping our style. When a team has the skill to overcome so much adversity, they deserve admiration."

  9. YELLOW CARDSpublished at 48 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Norwich

Middlesbrough's bright start to the second half continues.

Britt Assombalonga breaks through one challenge and then goes down under the next one from Christoph Zimmermann, which earns the Norwich captain a yellow card.

And now Middlesbrough's Jon Mikel Obi has been booked because he placed the ball down for the free-kick about three feet closer to the goal than it should have been.

Jonny Howson drills the free-kick low and true but straight at the goalkeeper.

  10. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Norwich

    Almost a goal for Middlesbrough!

Daniel Ayala heads against the post from Ryan Shotton's long throw. Should have scored.

Middlesbrough v Bristol City, Swansea v Brentford

    Lee JohnsonImage source, Rex Features

While we pause for breath at the Riverside, it's worth telling you about two more Championship fixtures coming up on Tuesday - including another at this very ground.

Middlesbrough will host play-off rivals Bristol City, who beat Sheffield United thanks to Andreas Weimann's hat-trick today.

In the other match, Swansea City play Brentford in a match between two sides who look destined to finish in mid-table.

You can follow live text commentary on the BBC Sport website and app from 19:30 BST.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:17 Greenwich Mean Time 30 March 2019

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Norwich

The half-time whistle blows and it's goalless between Middlesbrough and Norwich.

Boro have had the bulk of the chances, and yet it's Norwich who perhaps should be ahead. Darren Randolph has twice made excellent saves to prevent an opening goal for the Canaries.

  16. A 'frustrating' day for Prestonpublished at 18:15 Greenwich Mean Time 30 March 2019

    FT: Reading 2-1 Preston

    Alex NeilImage source, Rex Features

After seeing their 12-game unbeaten run come to an end with defeat by lowly Reading, Preston North End boss Alex Neil knows who is to blame for their surprise loss in Berkshire.

"I think frustrating in the fact that I didn't think, certainly in the early parts of the game, that there was anything in it," Neil told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"We've only got ourselves to blame for the first two goals. It doesn't matter what team you play in the league, if you give them two goals it's always going to be tough afterwards.

"The lads are disappointed and frustrated because they know how good they have been and how good they can be."

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 42 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Norwich

Marco Stiepermann lets the ball get away from him and then lunges into a challenge on Middlesbrough captain George Friend.

It's a tad high and his studs are up - yellow card for the Norwich midfielder.

I've seen reds given for that. It was one of those ones that depends on a referee's interpretation.

  18. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Norwich

Darren Randolph to the rescue again for Middlesbrough.

Ryan Shotton misjudges a high ball, allowing Norwich's top scorer Teemu Pukki to race straight through on goal.

The Finn's final touch isn't the best but Randolph is still called upon to make a good stop.

  19. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Norwich

Norwich have their first sight of goal for a while.

Kenny McLean volleys on from the edge of the box and Daniel Ayala, who had just conceded another foul seconds after being booked, heads it over the crossbar for a corner.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 33 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Norwich

That could have been another costly slip by Daniel Ayala but the Middlesbrough defender handled the ball just as Norwich thought they could head towards goal.

That results in a yellow card for Ayala.
