Leeds still trail to Neal Maupay's goal, as they did at Elland Road in October.

On that occasion, Pontus Jansson headed a late equaliser in what turned out to be Dean Smith's final game in charge of Brentford before he moved onto Aston Villa.

    Brentford 1-0 Leeds

Brentford have the weapons to really worry Leeds on the counter-attack here. They have bundles of quality when they get on the ball, but Leeds are dominating territory and possession at the moment.

Almost all Leeds so far in the second period, but nothing to unduly worry Luke Daniels in Brentford's goal.

Pablo Hernandez sends a left-wing free-kick straight out of play for a goal kick, as Kemar Roofe gets prepared to come off the bench.

    FT: Derby 2-0 QPR

Derby County boss Frank Lampard saw his side score two late goals against QPR meaning the Rams have sneaked back into the play-off spots.

They have a massive game against Bristol City next weekend.

Lampard told BBC Radio Derby: "It’s cup football almost now. What’s (riding) on these games is so much.

"And we’ve got to get up for it, and we will be. No doubt about that.

"We’ll get focused, the lads need a rest, but they have to be (ready) because we’re striving to get somewhere."

    FT: Hull 0-3 Sheff Utd

As for Sheffield United, automatic promotion remains their main goal. They will stay three points clear of Leeds in second place if the Whites can't get back into it at Brentford.

After today's 3-0 win at Hull, Blades manager Chris Wilder told BBC Radio Sheffield: "It's a great win for us, I'm absolutely delighted. Our ex-manager [Nigel Adkins, Wilder's predecessor] was never going to make it easy for us.

"We just keep rolling on. We needed a big weekend of football and Friday [United's 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest] really set us up.

"We have to go and get the next win and we'll go after it on Saturday."

    FT: Reading 0-0 West Brom

West Brom's point at Reading was enough to guarantee play-off football, but Jimmy Shan - in charge of the Baggies for the rest of the campaign - wants his players to stay focused during the remainder of the regular season.

He told BBC WM: "We always have an eye on the play-offs but (we also) look at each game in isolation and keep ticking them off.

"There are obviously still games to play, all we can do is keep focusing on our games. We’ll see where that leaves us at the end of the season."

  12. Baggies & Villa's play-off places securedpublished at 18:15 British Summer Time 22 April 2019

Results: Aston Villa 1-0 Millwall; Reading 0-0 West Brom

Earlier this afternoon, Aston Villa's place in the play-offs was secured by a win over Millwall, followed by losses for both Middlesbrough and Bristol City.

With City and Derby facing each other next weekend, fifth-placed Villa can no longer be overhauled by two of the sides below them.

And fourth-placed West Bromwich Albion's much-anticipated top-six berth was also mathematically confirmed today with their goalless draw at Reading, but the Baggies no longer have any chance of a top-two finish.

Those two West Midlands rivals could yet meet in the play-off semi-finals...

    HT: Brentford 1-0 Leeds

What isn't up for debate is that Leeds HAVE to do better at both ends of the pitch.

They've wasted chances up front, while it was far too easy for Neal Maupay to find space and put Brentford in front.

A pivotal 45 minutes ahead for Leeds, who are three points behind second-placed Sheffield United as it stands.

If I was a Leeds fan, I'd be fuming after that decision. There didn't seem any debate to me, but there we go. Here's what you've had to say about it...

Peter Shields: I used to be undecided about VAR as it seems to take away from "the moment" for fans but when faced with the incompetence of officials, it seems to be winning me over. Some of the decisions this season, in the Premiership and Championship, have been inexplicable!

Dr David: I might support Norwich but that was a penalty, clear as day. Ridiculous officiating.
