    Ballinamallard United 0-1 Crusaders

So Crusaders lead through Jordan Owens' 6th minute header.

They should be further ahead and have dominated the opening half.

Ballinamallard need to find something going forward but, crucially, they are still in this game.

  2. Settled down?published at 15:16 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    Ballinamallard United 0-1 Crusaders

Although Crusaders are still in command, Ballinamallard seem a bit more settled at the back now and are dealing better with the Crues' aerial bombardment.

Jordan Owens has had the better of the defenders all half, but they're just starting to show signs that they have worked out a method of containment.

We're into one minute of stoppage time.

  3. Signs of lifepublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    Ballinamallard United 0-1 Crusaders

That's got the Mallards fans in full voice again!

It's not a clear cut chance but as a ball goes into the Crusaders box it drops to Darragh McBrien at an awkward height on the edge of the area, he slams his effort into the ground and it cannons off a crusaders defender and causes a bit of panic in the box before being scrambled away.

Can the Mallards finish the half on a high?

  4. Caddell goes closepublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    Ballinamallard United 0-1 Crusaders

    Big chance!

Declan Caddell again finds himself in space in that inside right channel. He could and probably should play it across after latching onto Jordan Owens' header and opts to try and slide it in at the near post, but John Connolly gets his foot in the way to keep him out.

  6. Mallards need a spark - and so does the crowdpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

This could be a long afternoon for Ballinamallard. They're struggling to get a proper hold of the ball and the match is becoming scrappy.

At 1-0 up, Crusaders are looking comfortable and as if they have another gear in them if required.

Let's hope the crowd can find another gear soon too because, let's not try and hide it, it's all a bit flat at Windsor. The Mallards supporters were keen at the start, but the noise levels from the stands are just nowhere near what we're used to at an Irish Cup final.

  7. The break of the ballpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    Ballinamallard United 0-1 Crusaders

Jordan Owens is enjoying himself out there.

He takes another long ball down and lays it out wide for Jordan Forsythe to deliver a ball in from the right.

It's headed behind for a corner, which amounts to nothing but it's another sustained period of Crusaders pressure.

Paul Heatley fires the ball towards goal and it deflects into the path of Philip Lowry just six yards from goal, but the ball gets trapped beneath his feet prompting a melee, during which the ball is cleared away.

Another goal in this spell, and you feel Crusaders may run riot.

  8. Not quite clickingpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    Ballinamallard United 0-1 Crusaders

Right, a chance for Ballinamallard to launch the ball into the box from a free kick.

Instead they opt to go with a move they have clearly worked on in training, with McCartney attempting a deft dink to Darragh McBrien.

Paul Heatley is wise to it though and mops it up without a fuss.

Not the start Shirley will have been hoping for, but Harry McConkey's side have shocked many a team in this year's competition.

Can they get themselves back into this one?

  10. Injury scare for Clarkepublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    Ballinamallard United 0-1 Crusaders

    Oh that's close.

30 yard free kick, Cushley lays it off to Forsythe who sends a daisy cutter towards goal, John Connolly may have had it covered but it was very close to nestling in the bottom corner. Just wide though.

Even more worrying for Ballinamallard is that Richard Clarke looks in real trouble here. He landed awkwardly on his arm and is getting treatment.

He will be doing anything possible to stay on the pitch though.

Philip Lowry flicks a near post header over the bar as Crusaders continue to control the tempo of this one.

Then David Cushley tries to do a David Cushley. He strikes it nicely at the corner of the area but sends his effort fizzing just over the bar. You won't like that sight though if you're a Ballinamallard fan, he's so dangerous.

    Mark Sterling
BBC Sport NI at Windsor Park

Any nerves Crusaders may have had will have been well settled by that early Jordan Owens goal.

No frills with the goal - just a deep cross into the box and and a towering header from the big striker.

No doubt, though, that keeper John Connolly should have done better - just in front of his own fans who, in fairness, have kept the noise levels well up regardless of falling behind.

Lizzy is winning the final on the snacks front.

    A marvellous set up.

  15. Crues controlpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    Ballinamallard United 0-1 Crusaders

Ballinamallard will most definitely have spoken about keeping it tight at the start and they just haven't been able to against a Crusaders side who, ominously for them, look in the mood today.

By the way Jordan Owens has scored in each round of the cup this season, impressive.

Here they come again, the Mallards switch off at a set-piece allowing David Cushley to play his corner short to Billy Joe Burns who whips a cross in, Jordan Forsythe runs onto it but can only direct his header wide.

  16. goal

GOALpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    Ballinamallard United 0-1 Crusaders

Jordan Owens gives the Crues an early lead!

You've seen the club's record goalscorer do this hundreds of times. Billy Joe Burns just lofts one in to the back post where Owens, from about 12 yards out rises and puts his header back across goal.

It loops over John Connolly who can only palm it into the net, the veteran keeper has to do better there.

Nightmare start for the underdogs who have looked shakey, Crusaders will have wanted to stamp their authority on this game instantly. They've done it.

  17. Quick from the Cruespublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 4 May 2019

    Ballinamallard United 0-0 Crusaders

Hmmm. Worrying signs for Ballinamallard early on.

Billy Joe Burns slides a through ball down the right channel and Declan Caddell runs onto it, already beyond the entire Mallards defence.

Thankfully for the Championship side, Caddell squares it into the box but it's a poor ball and Ballinamallard can clear.

Too much space in behind for Crusaders to play with there though, they'll make their opponents pay before too long if they keep getting those openings.

Look at the youthful Declan Caddell on the right of that thumbnail image!

The Crues midfielder admitted this week that when they lifted the Irish Cup in 2009, he didn't think they would have to wait 10 years for another bite at the cherry.
