  1. Brighton backing Hughtonpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    Wolves v Brighton (15:00 BST)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Molineux

It has been a depressing 2019 for Brighton so far.

In fact, the Seagulls have won just three times since 4 December, when they beat Crystal Palace to move into the top half of the Premier League.

Now though, Chris Hughton's side are in trouble, just two points above the drop zone.

Nevertheless, my understanding is the Brighton hierarchy remain solidly behind manager Chris Hughton and no matter what happens, there will be no knee-jerk reactions of the type that saw him sacked by Norwich with just five games of the season left in 2014.

If there is hope for the visitors today, it comes from the fact they have lost just once in the last nine meetings between these two teams.

  2. £40m on the bench!published at 14:53 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The second season [in the Premier League] is always the hardest. First season is an adrenaline rush because no one really knows you.

The first season is enjoyment and you carry on the momentum from the Championship.

Chris Hughton has spent a lot of money but his players, you sometimes question it. He's got about £40m on the bench today.

  3. 'Nothing changes'published at 14:50 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    Wolves v Brighton (15:00 BST)

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Chris Hughton on BBC Radio 5 Live:

"The mood after the game on Tuesday was low which is normal after a defeat.

"We are very accepting here for the level of club we are, it's always going to be that way. Nothing changes, for us every game is going to be a challenge.

"We aren't going to go through a season without difficult times.

"The reality is it's only our second season. Some areas have been difficult for us with players we've missed but these are the challenges you have to look forward to."

  7. 'Players will find it difficult'published at 14:37 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    Wolves v Brighton (15:00 BST)

    Nigel Pearson
Former Leicester manager on BBC Radio 5 live's weekend preview show

Sometimes when you look dead and buried, when you make changes it's more acceptable because you have to try to get something.

At Leicester we stayed up when we really needed snookers.

Sometimes when the pressure is off then players can go out and perform. When there is a fear element it's very difficult to get the best out of players.

Chris Hughton will continue to show the right sort of strengths to get his players through.

Brighton are in freefall. They are out of the FA Cup and without a point or a goal in their past four league games, and it is hard to see them turning things around at Molineux.

if Brighton are looking for any sort of good omen, Wolves have taken more points against the top six than the bottom six this season if Brighton are looking for any sort of good omen for today.

Brighton really need to get something. This run of five consecutive defeats have come at just the wrong time.

  12. Cherries aiming for best points tallypublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    Bournemouth v Fulham (15:00 BST)

    Simon Brotherton
Match of the Day commentator at the Vitality Stadium

Another season of Premier League football is all-but guaranteed for Bournemouth, who sit on 41 points after last week's thrashing of Brighton along the coast.

The run-in suggests they might overhaul their best Premier League tally of 46 points, set two years ago. Emulating their ninth-place finish from that season looks less likely.

Fulham are of course long gone, a £100m net spend over two transfer windows not coming close to extending their stay in the division beyond the minimum. They did see off in-form Everton 2-0 last week, but have only taken a woeful two points from 17 away games all season.

Former Brighton boss Gus Poyet: "Brighton need to pick up something quick. I think the main thing is when you have a good run in the cups teams get better in the Premier League.

"But when I was at Sunderland as soon as we reached the League Cup final [in 2014] we were a disaster.

"When the game finishes it feels like the season has finished."

  20. 'Watford have earned two shots at Europe'published at 14:02 British Summer Time 20 April 2019

    Huddersfield v Watford (15:00 BST)

    Steven Wyeth
    Match of the Day commentator

Huddersfield aren't without motivation, despite their destiny having already been determined.

There are unwanted Premier League records to avoid before they depart. Benchmarks for most losses and fewest goals scored would be undesirable legacies, and one more home defeat would match Sunderland's high of 14 in a season.

Watford's endeavours have earned them two shots at Europe, and they head into the weekend as one of four teams separated by just a point in pursuit of seventh place.

Winning that race would provide a Europa League safety net to take into the FA Cup final, but a run of three defeats in four must be improved upon.
