Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe speaking to Match of the Day: "We got there in the end. So much to talk about today. A lot of incidents.

On 19-year-old Mark Travers' debut goal in goal: "It's always a gamble to start someone who's never played but on what we've seen I think he deserved an opportunity. You couldn't write a better debut. He's great guy.

"We had valid shouts for a penalty. It doesn't matter now, we've won the game but they are key moments that went against us. I don't think Foyth has meant to go in high but unfortunately the momentum has taken him. I think Son's reaction warranted the red.

"It was huge for us to win after we went a long time without winning at home. It has tailed off the last few weeks and we were very keen to end on high note."

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris speaking to Sky Sports: "One point would've been enough. We came for three points, started very well and we had the chances to get the opening goal, but everything turned very quickly. The game was over after the two red cards, the team made such an effort to stay in the game. In terms of togetherness it was a good test, after the second red, nine v 11 the task was too difficult.

"We tried our best until the end, the players made such an effort, it's a tough period for all teams involved in European competition - we need to deal with that. When you start to get one man, two men less it's tough. The top four is our target and we need to win our last game."

On the two red cards: "There is no one player more responsible than the other, we are a team, in both circumstances we just need to stay together - there is one week left, maybe more if we beat Ajax. This is not the moment to make one or two players guilty. We are a team, we will deal with this situation and we must get the three points that we need.

"Whatever will happen. we must finish as well as we can. We played so many games the last two months, the schedule is crazy - we try our best every time we play. If the opponent is better okay we accept the defeat. We can't lose energy on what happened in the past."

Tottenham Hotspur

And here's what Mauricio Pochettino had to say when speaking to Match of the Day: "I will respect the decision of the referee [on the red cards]. Nothing to say. That is football. Unlucky for us - of course it is difficult to get something positive. We made a massive effort.

"It is painful to play with two players. We need to move on. We cannot change the decisions. We have ahead two finals. It is in our hands. If it does not happen we will be proud because nobody expected Tottenham to be in the position they are today.

"No one believed in Tottenham to be in this position in the last week of the competition. What happens will happen and I will feel proud. We are fighting six teams, it is impossible for all six to get the top four, whatever happens I will feel proud and whatever happens in the semi-final I will be proud."

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to Sky Sports:"I don't think too much, we can't talk too much, we just need to prepare for next game.

"The first 40 minutes we played well and created chances but didn't score. Then we know football can be cruel, they scored in the last minute. We need to move on."

On Son Heung-min's red card for pushing Bournemouth midfielder Jefferson Lerma: "Nothing to say, I respect the decision of the referee. My honest opinion is we have to accept the decision of the referee, you cannot change the decision."

On Juan Foyth's dismissal, just two minutes after coming on as a half-time substitute: "Again, we need to respect the decision of the referee. It was unlucky for us. Nothing to say. with nine players we defended well and made a good game."

On how it will affect his side's Champions League semi-final second leg against Ajax and their run-in: "It won't affect that - we need to be ready for Wednesday.

"We are third, we are competing for the top four and in the semi-finals of the Champions League. If you look back at first game of the season, to be in position we are in today, we'd be happy."

Mauricio Pochettino is talking to the television cameras and is saying a lot - without saying a lot.

The Spurs boss refuses to be drawn on the two red cards, saying he "respects the referee's decision".

Bournemouth goalscorer Nathan Ake: "I think after two red cards you're expected to win. We were sloppy on the ball and obviously we're happy we scored in the last minute.

"It's important to do well against the top teams, I think we want to do this more and it's good we’ve done that today."

On a final home win: "We started the season well, we had a bit of a blip in the middle, so to finish the season like this is very good."

And this is what Spurs' defeat means for the top four...

Spurs have lost 13 (THIRTEEN) matches in the Premier League this season. And they are still third with 70 points. Crazy.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers on making his Premier League debut: "It was an unbelievable day for me, it's something I've worked towards over the last few years, and to get the three points as well is unbelievable.

"I found out I would play yesterday morning. I surprised myself but I felt comfortable out there.

"Your first save in the Premier League is always unbelievable, I'll always remember that."

At one stage it looked like Bournemouth's teenage keeper Mark Travers - making his senior debut - was going to be making all the headlines.

After making several superb saves in the first half, he made as many saves in the second half as Dave stood in Row H behind him. That's none.

I don't think Tottenham can argue, if you lose your discipline to that level then you can't complain. You have to be calm at the end of the season.

They have handed the three points over to Bournemouth. If Tottenham had 11 men playing somewhere near their best they would have won. They have blown it.

Bournemouth hadn't beaten Spurs since they came up to the Premier League in 2015. Well they have now. And that's their first win over the north London club since they beat them - in their previous guise of Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic - in the 1957 FA Cup.

Does anyone actually want to finish in the top four? It's the race which no-one wants to win.

Spurs have taken just three points in their past four matches, but know victory in their final game of the season - at home to Everton next week - will secure Champions League football next season.

As could winning this year's competition of course...

No! But Spurs reckon they should have been given a penalty. To be fair, Dele Alli has a point - he was wrestled to the ground by Callum Wilson.

Bournemouth just turned up the gas in the last two or three minutes and it’s been enough to get behind the Tottenham defence.

Ake is very good at that – he goes and attacks the ball. He heads the ball down and there’s absolutely nothing Lloris can do. It’s harsh on Spurs, who have done everything to hang on in this game.
