As ever, Chris Sutton has squeezed a little bit of controversy out of today's result. Celtic travel to Rangers next weekend and the former striker believes the Ibrox club should cheer their cross-city rivals on to the pitch before kick off.

So what now? Is Neil Lennon going to be the Celtic manager next season or will the club spend the summer scouring the land for an alternative? Here's what the Northern Irish coach said on the matter after the game.

"Look I'm here to do a job and I've done it, we've got a couple more big games but that was my job. I didn't ask for the job but I was asked to do it short term and it was very tough. Ahead of today’s triumph, Neil Lennon had won six trophies in his nine years as a manager. The former midfielder already had three Premiership titles, one Championship title and two Scottish Cups.

This trophy would make it seven for the Northern Irish coach, with a potential eighth on the way as the club now turn their attention to the Scottish Cup final against Hearts on May 25.

According to our player rater Celtic full back Mikael Lustig was the man of the match in today's 3-0 win at Pittodrie.

The defender's remarkable diving header to break the deadlock was surely the deciding factor that put him above second-placed Scott Bain and Callum McGregor in third.

Celtic wrapped up the league campaign at Pittodrie and in many ways Neil Lennon and his squad couldn't have hoped for a more appropriate opponent.

Not only have the Glasgow side won five of their six fixtures against Derek McInnes' team this season, but they also haven't lost at the old stadium since February 2016.

Lennon told BBC Sportsound: "I can't think of two more worthy people to dedicate this title to, if the fans and the club are behind it then so am I. They were the two giants of this club and I cant speak highly enough of my opinion of them, they were the greats and Billy for me was what the club is all about."

Celtic manager Neil Lennon says the side gave him the "heebee jeebees" at times as they claimed the league title.

"Things just felt right this week, we kept calm with all the emotions with Billy [McNeill's] funeral, the negativity at times and fake news going about, but kept our focus."

Lennon added that they have shut out some of the criticism: "You have to ignore that and focus on the amazing job players have done. I’m proud of them and the back room team who’ve helped me along the way."

He added: "I'm very lucky to have worked with this group who have been solid all season.

"It’s been really tough, toughest piece of management I've had to do, as it has been difficult coming in to the club but the players helped me and I like to think I’ve helped them. It's been really special."

Neil Lennon didn't waste much time acknowledging how much of a role his predecessor, Brendan Rodgers, played in winning Celtic's latest title.

Speaking to Sky Sports immediately after today's match, Lennon said: "Credit to Brendan [Rodgers] for the success because of foundation he built and I was lucky enough to build on."

Today’s title triumph for Celtic was claimed on matchday 36. When put within the context of the last seven, it’s a little late. Although it’s only one more week than last season, it’s six later than the club’s invincible title win under Brendan Rodgers the year before.

In fact, this is the joint-latest of them all alongside Ronny Deila’s in the 2015/16 season. Although it’s perhaps fair to say Lennon has had to endure a little more competition in the league than the Norwegian did that season.

Today’s title win is the Glasgow club’s 15th piece of silverware since this current run of dominance began in the 2011/12 season. Since then Celtic have (obviously) won eight league titles, as well as four League Cups and three Scottish Cups. Could they make it 16 before the season finishes?
