It looked soft but I've seen that type of situation before...

I think Ross County will come here [McDiarmid Park] and have a real go. If they avoid defeat against St Johnstone then you'd fancy County to go on and top the group

  10. 'Pressure on St Johnstone'published at 14:51 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

There's a bit of pressure on St Johnstone because if they don't win this game then I'm not sure eight points would be enough to secure the best second-place spot. There's pressure on them to go and beat Ross County, who can just go and enjoy the game

  11. Not so good memories for visitorspublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

St Johnstone v Ross County (15:00)

St Johnstone and Ross County have not met since May 2018 when a 1-1 draw at McDiarmid Park confirmed relegation for the Dingwall side.

David Wotherspoon's late equaliser for the hosts actually proved irrelevant that day since Partick Thistle's victory at Dundee had already sealed the Staggies' fate.

County didn't waste any time bouncing back though, winning the Championship with relative ease.

  12. Special day for Staggiespublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 21 July 2019

St Johnstone v Ross County (15:00)

Ross County have packed a lot in since they were admitted to the senior leagues in 1994/95.

The former Highland League side have won all three divisions below the top flight, lifted their third Challenge Cup last season and were Scottish Cup runners-up in 2010.

Their finest hour came in March 2016 when Alex Schalk struck in the last minute for a 2-1 win over Hibs in the League Cup final.

Can they go all the way again this time?

St Johnstone have been beaten finalists in this competition twice, back in 1969 and again in 1998.
