Bournemouth have not had a shot on target and they should've done then. Philip Billing tries to bustle his way through on the edge of the area, it falls to Chris Mepham, who snatches at the shot from a reasonably tight angle and it's harmlessly wide.

Our first booking goes to Bournemouth's Adam Smith for collecting Jack O'Connell with a late one. The VAR team see if it should be red, but a yellow is enough.

Sheffield United get their first corner of the match but John Fleck can't beat the man at the near post, but the Blades regain possession and eventually it falls to John Lundstram, who drags his strike wide of the post from outside the penalty area.

A chance for Philip Billing to be an instant hero for Bournemouth on his competitive debut for the club.

He gets the ball 35 yards out after a well-worked corner move but Billing's effort is absolutely, absolutely awful. It nearly hit the roof of the stand instead of the roof of the net.

Josh Verrills: Not a Sheffield United fan by any means but disappointed to not see Ravel Morrison in the squad today; can’t help but feel this is his last chance in the Premier League and if he gets his head right at the club he will be the best player they have by a country mile.

There's another chance, and again it's for the visitors. Callum Robinson is free about 25 yards out and shoots low and hard at the Bournemouth goal. It's heading for the bottom corner before Aaron Ramsdale, at full stretch, gets down quickly to push it wide.

Both sides play a crisp, passing game that is good on the eye, but we've not had too many chances since that opening minute save from Aaron Ramsdale to deny David McGoldrick.

Bournemouth break away on the counter but twice the final ball is a poor one, firstly from Callum Wilson and then from Adam Smith and the chance comes to nothing.

Ian Dennis and ex-Sheffield United midfielder Michael Brown are in the commentary box for BBC Radio 5 Live for this one.

Jefferson Lerma tries his luck from 30 yards for the hosts, but drags it miles wide. A waste.

A good start to this one. And it's down the other end we go and Ryan Fraser gets to the byeline but his cross from the right is just over the head of the leaping Callum Wilson.
