Former Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery is at the game. His wife is of Algerian descent.

Huge chance for Senegal. Striker M'Baye Niang runs onto a long ball and takes it round the keeper with his first touch. He takes it wide - but not too wide to score from - but hits his shot well off target. Big moment.

Senegal substitute Krepin Diatta tries to take on Mehdi Zeffane but in the end he fouls the Algerian.

David Hammett: if Algeria win this it'll be on a level with Greece 2004 Euro's ... bringing absolutely zero to the game apart from constant fouls ... pffff

    Senegal 0-1 Algeria

It's a drop ball. Both sets of players surround the referee and the ball, but the laws have changed so drop balls are uncontested now. The referee sends them away and drops it for Algeria's keeper.

  8. NO PENALTY!published at 62 mins

    Senegal 0-1 Algeria

The referee makes the correct decision and overturns his penalty decision. NO PENALTY to Senegal.

  9. VAR

Video Assistant Refereepublished at 61 mins

    Senegal 0-1 Algeria

The referee is going to watch this again on the pitchside screen. I think he'll overturn it.

  10. Postpublished at 60 mins

    Senegal 0-1 Algeria

Ismaila Sarr's cross is blasted straight at the arm of Algeria midfielder Adlene Guedioura, whose arm is right by his side. The referee gives a penalty. But I don't think that's a penalty at all.

  11. PENALTY TO SENEGALpublished at 59 mins

    Senegal 0-1 Algeria

    Handball. Penalty.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 59 mins

    Senegal 0-1 Algeria

Senegal make their first sub. Krepin Diatta, who started the semi-final, replaces Badou Ndiaye in central midfield.

  13. Postpublished at 58 mins

    Senegal 0-1 Algeria

Sadio Mane shoots.. and loses his boot.

It's good play by Youssouf Sabaly to find the striker. He turns past a defender with ease but then his cross-shot hits a defender and his boot goes flying.

The ball comes back to Mane, who crosses it with his booted foot.

  14. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Senegal 0-1 Algeria

Henri Saivet curls in a free-kick from deep. It just needs a nudge towards goal but nobody can get onto it despite Cheikhou Kouyate's attempts.

  15. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Senegal 0-1 Algeria

Finals are often disappointing, and this one is pretty dire. Difficult to watch.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 54 mins

    Senegal 0-1 Algeria

Algeria forward Youcef Belaili fouls Lamine Gassama and then mouths off to the referee and gets booked.

  17. Postpublished at 21:11 British Summer Time 19 July 2019

    Senegal 0-1 Algeria

That reminds me - Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo is going to win the golden boot unless Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez or Adam Ounas - who is on Algeria's bench - score twice or more.

Ighalo has scored five - they're all on three.

  18. Postpublished at 21:10 British Summer Time 19 July 2019

I watched the third-place play-off between Nigeria and Tunisia and that had an early goal - and then ended 1-0.

  19. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Senegal 0-1 Algeria

Would a second Algeria goal finish this game off? Not that they look like scoring one. They have a couple of attacks that don't go anywhere.

  20. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Senegal 0-1 Algeria

The free-kick is nudged out of the box and Riyad Mahrez's follow-up cross is blocked.
