    Tammy Abraham

Tammy Abraham really is taking his chances this season, isn't he?

His on-target header is spilled by Dean Henderson, under pressure from Christian Pulisic, and Abraham is onto the rebound to fire home from close range.

    Chelsea 0-0 Sheff Utd

That's nice from Fikayo Tomori - he chips a pass over from his own half right into the path of Tammy Abraham.

The striker takes aim from the right of the area, but it's badly askew and the ball rolls right across the face of goal and out for a goal kick.

  3. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Sheff Utd

United get a rare spell of possession by the corner flag after Kurt Zouma gave the ball away for a throw in, but George Baldock's pass is too heavy and the home side can take a breather with a goal kick.

  4. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Sheff Utd

John Egan grips on to much of Tammy Abraham's shirt right in front of the ref as a clearance drops towards them - but there's nothing given, to the anger of much of the crowd at Stamford Bridge.

  5. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Sheff Utd

The Blades win the first corner of the game with a rare attack. It's fired in low, and Tammy Abraham, on the near post, nods it firmly away from goal.

  6. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Sheff Utd

George Baldock slips over after taking the ball down just outside his own box and for a second Mason Mount looks interested - but Stuart Atwell blows for a foul on the Blades defender by Mount.

  7. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Sheff Utd

Tammy Abraham gets between two defenders inside the box and nicely takes the pass down off his chest, but Jack O'Connell quickly snuffs out the half-chance.

  8. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Sheff Utd

Chelsea are seeing most of the play so far, and when Oliver Norwood tries to clear to find Callum Robinson, the pass is short and Chelsea get it back. The Blades won't be able to afford to give it away like that all afternoon.

  9. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Sheff Utd

It's keeper to keeper as a Dean Henderson clearance goes over everyone and all the way to Kepa. There's been nothing around either area so far.

  10. Postpublished at 1 min

    Chelsea 0-0 Sheff Utd

There's an early touch for Dean Henderson, who has to come to the edge of the box to volley a bouncing ball over the top away.

And there's a first touch for Fikayo Tomori as a long pass goes down to the other end.

  13. 'Tomori deserves chance'published at 14:58 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

Chelsea v Sheff Utd (15:00 BST)

Fikayo Tomori made a substitute appearance for Chelsea in the Super Cup against Liverpool, but Frank Lampard saw a lot of the Canadian during his loan spell at Derby last season.

Before that, he had a season-long loan at Hull and a six-month stint at Brighton.

Speaking just after the teams were announced, Lampard said Tomori "had trained really well and deserves his chance."

  14. 'A lot to work on'published at 14:56 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

Chelsea v Sheff Utd (15:00 BST)

Blades boss Chris Wilder was not impressed by his side's efforts in their 2-1 defeat by Leicester last week, even if the team's fans were.

"I don't see why that should get an applause," was his forthright assessment. There was, he said, "a lot to work on".

United won a lot of friends with their approach in the Championship last season, but the Premier League is a very different beast.

  17. 'Blades win would be a major upset'published at 14:50 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

Chelsea face newly-promoted opposition for the second week running, after winning for the first time this season at Norwich last weekend.

Their record at home in the league against teams who've just come up is a predictably good one, with their only such defeat in the last 54 encounters coming against Bournemouth in December 2015.

Sheffield United have made a decent start to life back in the top tier but suffered their first defeat of the campaign last week at home to Leicester. Victory for Chris Wilder's team here would be a major upset and also their first at Stamford Bridge since their inaugural Premier League visit in October 1992, some 27 years ago.
