    THE BREAKTHROUGH!

Harry Wilson's corner is perfect as it goes over everyone in the box until it reaches Kieffer Moore at the back post and the Wales striker outleaps his marker to head home. The ball hit the defender on the way in but it's definitely Moore's goal.

Azerbaijan are not afraid to pass it, they're a much improved technical side.

They're quite aware of Ben Davies down the left side, getting into attacking positions.

This is Wales' first game in their new kit, which seems to have divided opinion among supporters.

I quite like it - shades of Spain, nice sleeves. What's the verdict?

A big game for Wales then, only a win will do. Lose and they're done for in terms of automatic qualification.

Even though the Bakcell Arena only has a capacity of 11,000, it's far from full here.

Most of the pre-match noise is coming from the red corner of Wales fans, who seem to have filled their allocation.

The players are in the tunnel and it's almost time to go in Baku. It feels like every game I watch is in Baku these days.

    Azerbaijan v Wales (17:00 GMT)

Wales forward Gareth Bale starts tonight, despite not playing for Real Madrid since 5 October.

He says he is ready for a tough game tonight.

"We understand they're a team that play good football and they frustrate teams.

"We understand everything about them, we've watched them, we've analysed them and we have a game-plan we're going to stick to. We just have to go out there and do the best we can."

  16. 'Couldn't afford to start Ramsey and Bale'published at 16:44 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2019

    Azerbaijan v Wales (17:00 GMT)

Wales manager Ryan Giggs says Aaron Ramsey is on the bench because he felt he couldn't start him and Gareth Bale - with both players not getting much club action recently because of injury.

"Aaron is looking good," Giggs told Sky Sports. "We just couldn't afford to start Gareth and him knowing both couldn't finish the 90 minutes. It's a difficult decision because of the quality he brings."

He admits he does not know how the hosts will play.

"They've got nothing to play for - will they press us or try to frusterate us? We're prepared for both scenarios."

And he says they are not thinking about the safety net of the play-offs.

"We've got to win tonight, that's all we're focused on. Croatia found it hard here. We found it hard against them in Cardiff."

Wales have played Azerbaijan seven times, winning six and drawing once.

    Azerbaijan v Wales (17:00 GMT)

    Dafydd Pritchard

You wouldn't blame Gareth Bale for getting worn down by the constant criticism from Real Madrid fans and Spanish media.

The latest accusation thrown at him in Spain is that he lacks commitment to his club, with one newspaper describing Bale training with his national side having not played for Real for a month as 'The Miracle in Wales'.

But speaking in Baku yesterday ahead of this evening's Euro 2020 qualifier against Azerbaijan, Bale simply laughed off the criticism.

You can read what he had to say here, including his comment about being "more excited" about playing for Wales than Real.

  19. 'Don't give away easy yellow cards'published at 16:35 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2019

    Azerbaijan v Wales (17:00 GMT)

Wales boss Ryan Giggs has called for his players to keep their discipline tonight.

Star forwards Gareth Bale and Daniel James are both one booking away from missing the Hungary decider.

"We've seen Joe Allen miss out on this game because of suspension," Giggs said.

"Discipline is a big part of winning games. But still you want players to be competitive but with an eye of not giving away stupid fouls to get easy yellow cards.

"Azerbaijan had a good result at home last time, drawing against Croatia, so it's not easy. But the lads are ready for it."
