BBC Sport at the King Power Stadium

A lot has been spoken about Leicester's top-four potential.

No-one has mentioned Burnley. Maybe they should.

That Chris Wood goal had taken them fourth in the 'as it stands' table.

Can they edge the second half?

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 19 October 2019

    Leicester 1-1 Burnley

And that will be that for the first half!

It quickly became end-to-end stuff between Leicester and Burnley, but it's Leicester who will go in the happier after Jamie Vardy's late equaliser.

GOAL - Leicester 1-1 Burnleypublished at 45 mins

    Jamie Vardy (45 mins)

    Leicester level!

Harvey Barnes delivers a superb cross under pressure on the left, and it sits perfectly for Jamie Vardy to hit a bullet header beyond the reach of Nick Pope.

  4. Burnley fans picking on Jamie Vardypublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 19 October 2019

Remember the spat between Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney.

The Burnley fans have decided whose side they are on, following 'Rooney' chants with, 'Jamie Vardy, your wife is a grass'.

  5. CLOSE!published at 39 mins

    Leicester 0-1 Burnley

Jamie Vardy has his first chance to test Nick Pope, but he slams an effort from the left into the side-netting.

That was a rapid break from Leicester, and it was a lovely dinked ball over the top from Harvey Barnes to set Vardy on his way.

    Really good contest this.

  6. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Leicester 0-1 Burnley

Ah, but Robbie Brady's effort hits the wall.

Burnley stay alert though, reaching the follow-up first to force a corner - but the referee blows for a foul and Leicester can relax.

  7. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Leicester 0-1 Burnley

Burnley are standing strong despite Leicester's pressure, but they continue to threaten going forward themselves and force a corner.

It goes long, but the visitors come again and earn a free-kick right on the edge of the area...

  8. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Leicester 0-1 Burnley

Leicester have really upped it since conceding the opening goal.

With pressure mounting, Youri Tielemans tries his luck from the edge of the area and draws a good save from Nick Pope. The Burnley keeper does really well to push the ball away from danger too, with blue shirts charging into meet any rebound.

  9. Postpublished at 29 mins

    Leicester 0-1 Burnley

Six of Dwight McNeill's eight Premier League assists have now been for Chris Wood.

Given the quality of that cross and Wood's subsequent header, it's not surprising.

  10. goal

GOAL - Leicester 0-1 Burnleypublished at 26 mins

    Chris Wood (26 mins)

    The Clarets lead!

Kasper Schmeichel is furious with his defence, as Chris Wood is able to sneak a header in the narrow column between Schmeichel's fingertips and the Leicester crossbar.

Dwight McNeil delivered a lovely cross towards the back post, but despite the Foxes having numbers in the box it was Wood who timed his leap to perfection.

  11. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Burnley

James Maddison is showing no signs of that illness so far today.

He's looked typically comfortable on the ball and is picking passes at will.

Leicester close to taking the lead through James Maddison then.

It was an interesting couple of weeks for Maddison, who was picked by England, spoke about how much he wanted to be part of Gareth Southgate's squad, was released due to illness, then pictured in a casino a day later.

The Leicester fans are wearing those scarves they were given round their necks. It means the stadium is virtually white.

  13. CLOSE!published at 21 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Burnley

Leicester are ramping up the pressure now, but it's drawing some excellent defending from Burnley's back line.

James Maddison shoots from just inside the area but Ben Mee stands his ground to block the ball from potentially sneaking into the bottom corner.

  14. CLOSE!published at 19 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Burnley

A big opportunity at the other end for Leicester sees defender Caglar Soyuncu send a free header wide of the target from a corner.

He should have at least made Nick Pope work for that one.

  15. CLOSE!published at 16 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Burnley

    Big chance for Burnley!

Jay Rodriguez holds the ball up nicely for the visitors, allowing Chris Wood to join him in attack.

After a scrap for possession, the ball breaks kindly to Wood inside the penalty area but he just can't quite reach the ball as Kasper Schmeichel races out to smother it.

  16. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Burnley

The Clarets are beginning to enjoy some good spells now, but Jay Rodriguez is flagged offside after a promising break forward.

  17. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Burnley

After another nice spell of Leicester possession, Ben Chilwell attempts a long ball over the top to Harvey Barnes but his pass is overhit.

Still not much in the way of chances despite Leicester owning 75% of the possession.

Burnley take their turn to press Leicester and force a corner - but it's comfortable for Kasper Schmeichel.

  18. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Burnley

It has been all Leicester in the opening five minutes, with the Foxes happy to take their time building from the back and starving Burnley of the ball.

Brendan Rodgers already has his notepad out on the sidelines, though he could be forgiven for sitting back in his chair with a rather content look.

  19. Lawro predicts home winpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 19 October 2019

    Leicester 0-0 Burnley

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Burnley are another team to have built a good little undefeated run, but I don't see them extending it here.

I just feel that in this game, the influence of Leicester striker Jamie Vardy will be massive.

The Clarets are decent at the back but I don't think they will be able to deal with Vardy's pace.

Once they get back in numbers and get into their defensive shape, Burnley are very tough to break down but Vardy might not give them time to do that.

    Lawro's prediction: 2-1

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 3 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Burnley

A very, very early yellow card for Jeff Hendrick for a clumsy challenge in the Leicester half.

The hosts are dominating the early possession and force the game's first corner - it's pinball in the Burnley box but the Clarets eventually survive.

Bright start for Leicester with Burnley yet to get up to speed.
