    Watford 0-0 Bournemouth

One of Hughes' first involvements is to foul Diego Rico. The home fans aren't happy with the decision. It was a little soft.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 10 mins

    Watford 0-0 Bournemouth

Ah. This isn't nice. Tom Cleverley's day is done after just 10 minutes. He is replaced by Will Hughes. I didn't see Cleverley pick up a knock in a tackle but that surely must be an injury.

    Watford 0-0 Bournemouth

It's two up top for Watford but Gerard Deulofeu and Roberto Pereyra seem to have licence to roam. Aaron Ramsdale has to come off his line quickly to deny the latter a chance.

  4. CLOSE!published at 6 mins

    Watford 0-0 Bournemouth

    Watford have started really well.

Deulofeu is involved again with a wicked inswinging corner which almost goes straight in at the near post. The follow-up effort is blocked.

  5. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Watford 0-0 Bournemouth

Not one Watford player has scored more than one goal in the league this season. Abdoulaye Doucoure should have become the first there. Such a good chance.

  6. CLOSE!published at 2 mins

    Watford 0-0 Bournemouth

Massive chance with just a minute gone!

A cross from the right by Gerard Deulofeu is parried out into the box by Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale but Abdoulaye Doucoure blazes over the rebound from 10 yards.

After they were promoted together in 2015, both Watford and Bournemouth have been held up as examples of how to become established in the top flight.

Neither have come close to a genuine relegation battle in their first four seasons but this time may be different if Watford don't pick up their first win soon.

There were encouraging signs in their last match at Tottenham - a game from which they should have taken all three points. They must carry that level of performance into this weekend at Vicarage Road and be more ruthless if they're to avoid being further cut adrift at the bottom of the table.

Watford have improved in recent weeks under Quique Sanchez Flores, drawing their last two games, but they're still yet to win in nine league matches this season.

If they fail to win today they'll equal their record for the longest winless start to a season.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, have not won any of their last four games in all competitions and have failed to score in their last two.

    They still start today 10th.

Watford XI: Foster, Janmaat, Kabasele, Cathcart, Dawson, Masina, Clevery, Chalobah, Doucoure, Deulofeu, Pereyra.

Bournemouth XI: Ramsdale, Smith, S Cook, Ake, Rico, Danjuma, Lerma, Billing, Fraser, King, C Wilson.

Subs: Boruc (GK), Francis, Solanke, Cook, Wilson, Kelly, Mepham.
