    Southampton 2-0 Wolves

Danny Ings, who has been relatively quiet, controls Ryan Bertrand's delivery brilliantly, but his shot comes off a defender and the ball falls in front of Shane Long.

The Irishman's shot is saved but he was offside anyway.

    Southampton 2-0 Wolves

    Southampton 2-0 Wolves

Wolves just haven't got going in attack. Raul Jimenez tries to find Pedro Neto after drifting to the right but his fizzed low ball has too much fizz.

    Non-carbonated next time Raul, eh?

Cedric Soares and Shane Long combine again!!

This time the Portuguese full-back delivers a looping ball which Long meets but can't keep down.

  8. goal

GOAL - Southampton 2-0 Wolvespublished at 35 mins

    Shane Long

    Long time coming...

It's his first of the season.

Great play by Stuart Armstrong who slides in to keep the ball from going out for a throw-in.

Cedric Soares picks up the play and delivers a cross from the right which Irishman Shane Long meets with a stopping header - it finds its home in Rui Patricio's bottom right.

  9. CLOSE!published at 34 mins

    Southampton 1-0 Wolves

Raul Jimenez really should have done better although he was at full stretch.

Pedro Neto, once more, delivers a peach of a ball - from the right - and finds his team-mate who makes contact but pokes wide at the near post.

Wolves have conceded the first goal in a league-high 16 different Premier League games this season, including each of the last seven in a row.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 28 mins

    Southampton 1-0 Wolves

Joao Moutinho fires in a free-kick from the right. Raul Jimenez goes for the hooked shot at the near post but also catches the studs of Danny Ings.

    That hurt - a lot.

Jimenez is running it off though.

    Nails.

Moments later James Ward-Prowse goes into the book for a late tackle on Moutinho.

  14. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Southampton 1-0 Wolves

    Close-ish for the Saints.

This time Nathan Redmond powers down the left and delivers a ball into the area which takes a bounce and is headed towards goal by Cedric Soares.

He creates little power from his forehead which makes it a comfortable save for Rui Patricio.

  15. GOOD SAVE!published at 23 mins

    Southampton 1-0 Wolves

Raul Jimenez's hooked shot comes off the head of Alex McCarthy - in all fairness, the men on the line would have blocked the shot anyway.

Yet again, it was good work from Pedro Neto, this time on the left.

  16. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Southampton 1-0 Wolves

Bednarek thinks he's a Cristiano Ronaldo now. Surging forward to deliver a teasing ball from the left.

It was the sort of thing you would expect to see from Ings. It's a quality finish.

  18. goal

GOAL - Southampton 1-0 Wolvespublished at 15 mins

    Jan Bednarek

    Textbook...er...Jan Bednarek.

They call him "Bad Man" Bednarek (pretty sure they don't) for a reason.

The Pole keeps his cool to sidefoot hook in James Ward-Prowse's free-kick ball from the right that arrived in front of him.

It's his second ever goal for the Saints.

  19. CLOSE!published at 13 mins

    Southampton 0-0 Wolves

    First shot!

Adama Traore makes himself some space on the edge of the area and strikes a low one that takes a partially wicked deflection off the boot of Cedric Soares - the ball creeps past the Saints left-hand upright.

    Nothing comes from the corner.

  20. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Southampton 0-0 Wolves

Southampton once again get the home crowd excited before skipper Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg plays the ball to no-one or perhaps he thought he saw someone but then realised it wasn't.

    Best ask him afterwards.
