Dave Huggan: Lots of early mornings for us watching in Australia over breakfast. So I'm looking forward to bacon with Belgium, toast with Turkey and croissants with Croatia!
Getting in the mood
Turkey v Italy (20:00 BST)
Around 16,000 fans are expected to attend tonight's opener at Rome's Stadio Olimpico.
Those unable to get a ticket are gathering at the fan park at the Piazza del Popolo square in Italy's capital.
A real party atmosphere developing out there!
Atmosphere building
Turkey v Italy (20:00 BST)
There's a helicopter following a team coach which is heading towards Stadio Olimpico as we speak.
Fans of Italy and Turkey are waiting outside the ground to greet the teams. Lots of Italian flags and faces painted green, white and red.
There's also a few red flares from the Turkish contingent. It's all good humoured and there is a decent atmosphere building with just under two hours before kick-off.
A number of Turkish fans have already made their way into the stadium.
Italy for the oracle cat
Turkey v Italy (20:00 BST)
Achilles the oracle cat has spoken. Or meowed at least.
The gifted feline correctly predicted the winners of the first four games of the 2018 World Cup by eating from a bowl of cat food in front of the flag of his chosen country and he's been called upon again for this tournament.
He's gone for Italy in tonight's opener. I wouldn't argue with him, just look at that face in the picture above. Achilles is in no mood for a debate.
Got your wallchart?
A major tournament is not a major tournament without a wall chart.
If you haven't got yours printed out and stuck up on your wall, then you can download it here, plus there are versions for England, Scotland and Wales.

Hello!
Yes, it is here, it is actually here!
One year on from when Euro 2020 was due to take place the start of the tournament is merely hours away.
A week or so ago I was wondering if I'd be suffering from football fatigue following the game every day format of the Premier League season but that disappeared earlier this week and I am firmly on board the European Championship excitement train.
Who will come out on top? Which established players will shine and which exciting talent will emerge? How will the Home Nations get on? So many questions that will be answered over the coming weeks of non-stop tournament football.
Bring it on!
It's finally here!
For football fans, there is one night that can match the excitement we all experienced as a child on Christmas Eve.
That night is the one before the start of a European Championship or a World Cup - that sense of excitement, anticipation and hope that this year could finally be our year is unbeatable.
I don't know about you but I barely slept last night, but finally the time has arrived.
It's the start of the European Championship!
