  1. Post update

    Poland 0-1 Slovakia

Marek Hamsik fancies a shot just inside the Poland box but Mateusz Klich puts himself in the way of it.

Still no shots on target yet for either side but Slovakia lead thanks to Wojciech Szczesny's own goal.

  2. 'Slovakia are frustrating Poland'

    Poland 0-1 Slovakia

    Clinton Morrison

Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

They're attacking well. We've been talking about Hamsik, Mak and Duda, they've all started ever so well. So Slovakia have got a lot of good players and they're frustrating Poland.

Poland started well and on the front foot, but they're not creating enough chances for their talisman Lewandowski.

  3. Unwanted record

    Poland 0-1 Slovakia

Poland's Wojciech Szczesny has become the first ever goalkeeper to score an own goal at the European Championship finals.

  4. CLOSE!

    Poland 0-1 Slovakia

Juraj Kucka is not far off with a shot from range as Slovakia threaten again.

They are doing a really good job so far - Slovakia. Robert Lewandowski has been well contained and they've looked a real danger on the counter.

  5. PENALTY APPEAL

    Poland 0-1 Slovakia

Someone goes down in the Slovakia box and there's a few calls for a Poland penalty. Nothing is given and play goes on with Slovakia countering but Poland manage to fend it off.

VAR has a look at that incident in the Slovakia box but nothing is given.

Terry Cooper: I'd really like to see Lewandowski have an absolutely storming tournament. Poland are one of those sides who've never lived up to what they're capable of in previous tourneys.

Paul Collins: I see Szczesny is still a poor goalie. Shouldn't be getting beat at his near post.

  7. 'That is not good goalkeeping'

    Poland 0-1 Slovakia

    Clinton Morrison

Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It's a brilliant goal from Mak and everyone is talking about Poland and Lew, but Slovakia have great players.

You think he's going down a blind alley, it's a brilliant nutmeg and once he gets into this position Szczesny should not be getting beat at his near post, that is not good goalkeeping.

  8. YELLOW CARD

    Poland 0-1 Slovakia

Grzegorz Krychowiak takes the hit as he pulls back Jakub Hromada as he threatens to race away and the Poland midfielder is booked.

  9. Post update

    Poland 0-1 Slovakia

It had been all Poland but Slovakia had looked dangerous on a couple of occasions and it is they who lead.

Poland have won only one of their last nine opening games at a major tournament and they find themselves behind again here.

  10. GOAL - Poland 0-1 Slovakia

    Wojciech Szczesny OG

    Mak attack!

Slovakia take the lead as Robert Mak does superbly on the left, leaving two Poland defenders floundering on the right, before racing into the box. His shot hits the post and pounces back off Wojciech Szczesny and into the net.

  11. Post update

    Poland 0-0 Slovakia

Mateusz Klich in the Poland midfield. I feel like there's been Leeds players involved in nigh on every game of the Euros so far. Not bad having a team full of internationals after just one season back at the top level of English football.

  12. CLOSE!

    Poland 0-0 Slovakia

    Oooh, close!

It has been all Poland but Slovakia go closest as Ondrej Duda cuts inside on the right, defenders back off and Duda has a pop, sending his shot just wide of the upright.

  13. 'It's been all Poland'

    Poland 0-0 Slovakia

    Clinton Morrison

Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It's a good start for Poland, they've been on the front foot. Obviously Slovakia started well with the free kick, but since then it's been all Poland.

You can see Slovakia are not coming out, they've worked on this in training. They're staying firm and Poland will find this difficult. You can see were Lewandowski is picking up the ball, so deep in his own half. He is going to need service to break down this Slovakian defence.

  14. Post update

    Poland 0-0 Slovakia

Martin Dubravka is off his line well to punch away an in-swinging Maciej Rybus free kick before Peter Pekarík does well to head away a dangerous Kamil Jozwiak cross.

Poland are just starting to take control and exert the pressure.

  15. Post update

    Poland 0-0 Slovakia

It has been a quite open start so far with the two teams' talismanic players - Marek Hamsik and Robert Lewandowski - heavily involved. No shots on or off target yet, though.

  16. 'Its about who comes second and third'

    Poland 0-0 Slovakia

    Clinton Morrison

Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports

We have spoken about Marek Hamsik and Robert Lewandowski, but there are a lot of other talented players on the pitch. Both teams will need to go for it because I think Spain are the favourites and its about whoever can finish second or third.

  17. Post update

    Poland 0-0 Slovakia

Robert Lewandowski is already causing a few concerns for the opposition defence as he sees one shot blocked by a team-mate before a few twists and turns just inside the area causes a bit of a panic but Slovakia defenders manage to get in the way of his shot.

  18. Post update

    Poland 0-0 Slovakia

Marek Hamsik, who was a doubt for this game after missing recent friendlies with an injury, sends a good free kick into the Poland box and it causes a few concerns before it is eventually dealt with by Robert Lewandowski.

  19. KICK-OFF

    Poland 0-0 Slovakia

Slovakia get this Group E game under way.

  20. 'Lewandowski has to adjust for Poland'

    Poland v Slovakia (17:00 BST)

    Clinton Morrison

Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports

Robert Lewandowski cannot just play like a number 9, he has to drop into little pockets, get on the ball and link the play. When you aren't playing with the calibre of players you play with at Bayern Munich you have to adjust your game.
