  1. Play stops for Eriksen tribute

    Denmark 1-0 Belgium

The round of applause from the fans starts in support of Christian Eriksen. Play stops on the pitch and everyone including the referee joins in.

The Denmark manager had suggested beforehand Eriksen might even be able to hear this because the hospital is so close by.

  2. Post update

    Denmark 1-0 Belgium

Belgium have faced one fewer shot in eight minutes against Denmark (four) than they did in 90 minutes against Russia.

  3. Get Involved

    Tweet: #bbcfootball

Paul Collins: Denmark have started this game brilliantly. Belgium have started badly.

Colin Bundred: The first playing out from the back gift of the 2020 championship. I’m betting there will be a few more.

  4. Post update

    Denmark 1-0 Belgium

I had said Yussuf Poulsen 'slotted home' but having seen a replay I'm upgrading it to 'drilled home'.

  5. Post update

    Denmark 1-0 Belgium

I had wondered what kind of shape mentally Denmark would be in today but they've been brilliant, really up for this. All over Belgium.

  6. Post update

    Denmark 1-0 Belgium

    Karen Carney

Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

I can't believe this - Belgium are all over the shop. Defending poorly in the penalty area, giving the ball away.

  7. Post update

    Denmark 1-0 Belgium

Yousuff Poulsen's opener was scored after just one minute and 39 seconds, the second fastest goal ever scored in a European Championship match.

Only Dmitry Kirichenko for Russia vs Greece at Euro 2004 scored an earlier goal (65 seconds).

  8. Post update

    Denmark 1-0 Belgium

This is a sensational start for Denmark. Moments after left wing-back Joakim Maehle goes close, so does his right-sided counterpart Daniel Wass, who arrives late onto a deep cross but his header rolls to the keeper.

  9. Post update

    Denmark 1-0 Belgium

Denmark almost score a second as Joakim Maehle goes on a jinking run into the box but then he pokes his shot straight at Thibaut Courtois.

  10. 'What a start'

    Denmark 1-0 Belgium

    Karen Carney

Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

That is unbelievable. What a start. Belgium give the ball away, they win it back and it falls to Yussuf Poulsen, he's on the outside of the penalty area, he takes a touch, right foot and he puts in the back of the net. Then it's about the emotion, the crowd behind him and Poulsen himself is emotional. Wow this team have galvanised and what a finish, what a start!

    Denmark celebrate
  11. GOAL - Denmark 1-0 Belgium

    Yussuf Poulsen

    WOW!

Terrible defending by Jason Denayer and Denmark are ahead.

Belgium's Denayer passes the ball directly to Denmark's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and then races out to try to make up for that error.

Hojbjerg just plays the ball through to Yussuf Poulsen - with Denayer running the other way - and the unmarked Denmark forward drills into the bottom corner.

  12. Post update

    Denmark 0-0 Belgium

An early attack for Denmark as Martin Braithwaite goes down the right. But wait, the offside flag is up.

  13. Post update

    Denmark 0-0 Belgium

    Karen Carney

Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Goosebumps - I have never seen such an emotional national anthem from the players and the fans. That last huddle there, Simon Kjaer just got all his team together and got them together, it won't be an easy game.

  14. KICK-OFF

    Denmark 0-0 Belgium

    The football is under way.

  15. Post update

    Denmark v Belgium (17:00 BST)

Belgium have won seven matches under Roberto Martinez at the European Championship and World Cup combined.

Only Guy Thys (eight) has recorded more such wins with the Red Devils.

The late Thys managed Belgium in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

  16. Post update

    Denmark v Belgium (17:00 BST)

National anthems. First Belgium and now Denmark on an emotional night in Copenhagen.

Christian Eriksen is just a few hundred metres away in hospital.

  17. Post update

    Denmark v Belgium (17:00 BST)

Belgium have won four of their last five matches at the European Championship (L1), as many as they had won across their first 13 (W4 D2 L7).

  18. Post update

    Denmark v Belgium (17:00 BST)

"You'll Never Walk Alone" is being played just before the players come onto the pitch to a huge round of applause.

  19. 'Lukaku has that X factor'

    Denmark v Belgium (17:00 BST)

    Karen Carney

Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

What a season Romelu Lukaku has had, he is probably in the form of his life.

As a player, when you have a centre forward in prolific form it makes such a difference.

All the teams that want to progress need a striker who is firing - Belgium have that in Lukaku. He has that X factor and could be the difference today.

  20. Post update

    Denmark v Belgium (17:00 BST)

A huge flag in the shape of a Christian Eriksen jersey is on the pitch now. A good 20 or 25 yards long.
