    FT: Croatia 1-1 Czech Republic

Well, that's it. Short and sweet from me as our attention turns to Wembley.

Thank you for your time and company over the last two hours. It's been fun. If your team is playing tonight, good luck. Now to find a telly...

    Stay safe. Cheers.

When the team got drawn into this group everyone said OK the only chance might be to win against Scotland and hope three points is enough. Now we have got four. I think they'll go through with four points which is great news for the team.

Although it was unexpected they deserve it. They were brave today and not passive. They were never in danger of losing. The draw is a fair result.

Once Croatia scored you thought they'd be on the front foot and up the speed of their game. But they never consistently did it.

Perisic scored the goal. It was a fantastic strike. He exploited the space in behind.

    FT: Croatia 1-1 Czech Republic

Croatia have never lost their second match at any of their previous 10 major tournaments (European Championship + World Cup), winning six and drawing four such matches. They can add Euro 2020 to that list now.

Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Croatia weren't very good in the first half but they made changes at half time and in the second half it was very entertaining.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Croatia were not at the races in the first half but they looked really good going forward [in the second half].

Credit to Croatia, they showed a bit of fight and spirit and got the point they just about deserved.

    FT: Croatia 1-1 Czech Republic

For a stadium that takes three hours to fill, barring two pockets at either end of the ground with Croatian and Czech fans, the place has emptied within 30 seconds.

Both sets of players go to their supporters. It's a rather sombre gathering over to my left, while the party is in full flow among the Czech fans. What a tournament they are having. Their players are bouncing in a line, the flags are waving. They think they're going through.

Ooft. Free-kick Croatia coming after a heavy tackle from Hlozek on the near touchline. Modric stands over the ball.

I've been baffled by the Croatia performance in the tournament so far, until this last 45 minutes where they have looked a threat.

Three minutes of injury time coming up. If there wasn't the game of a generation coming up in an hour, I'd want extra time, it's been good stuff here.

    Come on, one more goal?

  12. CLOSE!published at 18:49 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    Croatia 1-1 Czech Republic

All the noise is coming from the Czech Republic fans inside Hampden. Well, that and my laptop.

Their team seem content to defend and hit on the break. But it's a dangerous game with Petkovic having a shot deflected narrowly wide. The danger is eventually cleared after two corners, but Croatia finishing strongly here.

Five to go, and it's anyone's guess who is going to clinch this one.

Are we getting a late winner people?

Vladimir Coufal is terrified of Ivan Perisic. He's back peddling and back peddling as soon as Perisic gets on the ball.

You couldn't really call this one. Croatia have dropped off a little bit and the Czech Republic have upped ther game. It's a stalemate really.

Is something happening somewhere else tonight?

A quick glance around Hampden and a slow trickle of bodies can be seen slipping out towards the exits as this end-to-end contest heats up.

All keen to get up the road for The One Show starting, obviously.

  18. Perisic third on Croat goals listpublished at 18:37 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    Croatia 1-1 Czech Republic

Ivan Perisic's 29th international goal leaves him third on the list of all-time Croatian goalscorers, level with Eduardo.

He is only behind the brillaint Davor Suker and marvellous Mario Mandzukic.

Perisic has scored in each of the last four major international tournaments (2014 World Cup, 2016 Euros, 2018 World Cup, 2020 Euros), becoming the first Croatian to score in four separate such tournaments.

In fact, across the last four major tournaments, only Antoine Griezmann (10), Cristiano Ronaldo (10) and Romelu Lukaku (9) have more goals for a European nation than Ivan Perisic for Croatia (8).

So many subs have just come on at once, and they time it just as the sun breaks through the clouds above Hampden, leaving us blinded by the glare coming from the Croatia manager's trainers.

If any of them do anything important I'll let you know.

  20. CLOSE!published at 18:33 British Summer Time 18 June 2021

    Croatia 1-1 Czech Republic

    So close for Croatia.

Czech Republic don't clear their lines from a ball into the box. Substitute Nikola Vlasic controls the ball at the second attempt, turns his man 10 yards out and lashes a ferocious shot at goal that whistles just wide of the post
