  1. Post update

    That's your lot.

We'll see you in the last 16 with England but there's still two more groups to be decided tomorrow.

Here's the match report on England's win. Reaction to Scotland's defeat is here.

And here's more from Gareth Southgate on Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell.

    See you again soon!

  2. 'To win the tournament you have to beat those teams'

    FT: Czech Republic 0-1 England

    England

More from Gareth Southgate, speaking to BBC Sport: "We need the strength in depth. It was important Harry Maguire got 90 minutes. Getting 45 minutes was a significant step forward for Jordan Henderson. We need everybody. The guys that came on closed the game out really well. Pressing for the second can improve

"We have won the group, huge credit to the players because the disruption they have had to deal with in the last 24 hours, they have coped really well."

On possibly facing France, Germany or Portugal next: "To win a tournament you have to beat those teams. We wanted to make sure we won the group and stayed at Wembley. We don't know if that is advantageous in terms of where the draw will take us but we would rather be here, we could have come second and still have had a really difficult draw. To win the group is good for confidence and it is great our fans will see us in the next round here."

  3. 'Saka was outstanding'

    FT: Czech Republic 0-1 England

    England

England boss Gareth Southgate, speaking to BBC Sport: "I enjoyed a lot of our build up play. Our first half in particular the interchange of positions of our forwards was very effective.

"We have been solid in all of our games and defensively we had to change the defensive shape this morning because of the players we picked, it is huge credit to the players because we didn't have time to work on the training ground. We had done at the games at Middlesbrough, we went through it in a couple of meetings but they took it on board against a very good team. Although it wasn't watertight I felt they adapted very well."

How much did your team have to change given what has happened in last 24 hours or so? "We worked some attacking patterns that we wanted to keep the same. We decided because we had qualified leaving Phil Foden out was a sensible thing to do. Defensively we felt with the players we were going to play we needed to defend slightly differently as a tam. There was a fair bit going on for sure."

On Bukayo Saka: "Really outstanding. He is so comfortable receiving under pressure. Strong holding players off, he's been called a slippery eel before because he can wriggle out of trouble and of course he can go on his left or right side which is difficult for defenders to defend against.

"He has deserved his chance. Really pleased he grabbed his opportunity."

  6. 'We want to see champagne football as well'

    FT Czech Republic 0-1 England

    England

More from England boss Gareth Southgate speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live:

On fans wanting to see champagne football: "We would like to see that as well. I think if you spoke to the players we spoke a lot about that freedom, but we are a little bit short in a few areas of that match fitness and that sharpness and I thought as the game wore on that started to take its toll a bit. We wanted to get a couple of players into the game. To get Jordan Henderson 45 minutes was important, to get Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford on the pitch, 90 minutes for Harry Maguire...

"We have hit the woodwork in all three matches and the other thing we have to get better on is our attacking set-play which is normally such a good source of goals for us and our deliveries have been really poor. They are often the goal that breaks the deadlock and opens teams up but I have to say the Czech Republic are a very good team and their ranking is a red herring really."

  7. 'It's complicated for them to start'

    FT: Czech Republic 0-1 England

    England

More from Gareth Southgate to 5 Live on Phil Foden, Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell: "Phil was on a yellow card and given that there has to be a doubt about the two boys I didn't want to lose a third before any possible injuries so that was the only reason for phil. We think the quarantine ends midnight of match day. What we don't know how much training they can do and what might be possible. They can obviously train individually and we think there might be a period where they can train in groups distanced, but I'm not sure they can join in the whole group. So the reality is it's really complicated for them to start in the game next week."

On confidence: "I think what they're showing is adaptability and resilience. We've had to make so many changes and known that players right from the start weren't available. Obviously it was the first time we've seen Harry Maguire tongiht, and we've only seen 45 minutes for Jordan Henderson. We're dealing with all those issues and striding on and we know there are bigger tests ahead. All they can do as players is win the group which they have. They will feel confident because they've played some good sides and had some tough tests. we know the next one is going to be the toughest yet but we are looking forward to that challenge."

  8. 'There was a bit more freedom'

    FT Czech Republic 0-1 England

    England

England boss Gareth Southgate speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live on tonight's performance: "I thought there were a lot of positives in the performance both individual and collectively. It was one of those nights where we said to the players there was a bit more freedom because the consequence of a draw or a loss wasn't fatal, so hopefully a bit less pressure for them to play which is rare in a tournament. But equally we wanted to win because finishing first or second, we didn't know what the best route would be but we did want to stay at Wembley with more fans which is great. For the players to deal with the disruptions we've had, it was difficult for the staff but with the players we changed the way we were going to defend this morning and had no time to go through it on the training pitch at all, we just had to talk through it in meetings and though it wasn't watertight I thought they adapted really well."

On the forwards: "I liked the interchange of positions early in the game. I thought we looked really bright and obviously players that can receive between the lines and the movement was good. We ran out of gas a little bit with that but we know one or two of the players are short of that match fitness. I thought the goal was excellent. Really good play by Bukayo, a lovely cross from Jack and great to see Raheem scoring. Bukayo's performance for such a young player in a first European Championship, his ability to receive under pressure and to drive at people for a young player, he is so reliable so that was hugely exciting. We are difficult to score against at the moment and although we're not perhaps flowing as much as we'd like, that solidity is critical for any team doing well."

Here's the full highlights, including Raheem Sterling's goal.

  15. 'We managed the game well'

    FT: Czech Republic 0-1 England

    England

England midfielder Jordan Henderson: "We managed the game really well. We were solid defensively. We’d have liked to have scored a few more. We can improve in certain areas but we’re pleased with the performance and result. Top of the group is good as well.

"Bukayo Saka was excellent. Jack Grealish was fantastic. Lots of positives. Raheem Sterling getting his goal as well. We looked sharp at times but we needed to be a bit more clinical and kill the game off.

"Big positive [to have the next game at Wembley]. It's great to have the fans back and hopefully we can give them something to shout about next week."

  17. 'We are not fluent but having our moments'

    FT: Czech Republic 0-1 England

    England

England coach Gareth Southgate speaking to ITV Sport: "I thought we started really well. We were stable with the ball. We worked on some things in training yesterday but credit to the players as they had to adjust. Without the ball we changed what we were doing because of the change in personnel. It is huge credit to the players that they were as stable without the ball as they were.

"We hadn't finalised everything as we got the shout during training (over the players needing to isolate). We have been super impressed with Bukayo Saka throughout the month. He was excellent up at Middlesbrough and we have liked him with and without the ball. His receiving tonight under pressure was fantastic.

"The Czechs are a really good side. They use the ball well and are really tough to break down. There is more to come from us, definitely. We have not scored from a set play yet which I know people laughed at with us only scoring from them. They are crucial in big matches and we have to get those nailed. We are not fluent but we have moments where we look a good side.

"Different sorts of tests. All of our next opponents will be different games. There is a lot of good things we are doing. We are getting minutes for a lot of the players. Ninety minutes for Harry Maguire was important tonight. Jordan Henderson getting 45 minutes is a step forward. A lot of positives.

"It is great to be having more supporters in that is for sure. Who knows if that will be a good or not. We wanted to win the group and stay at Wembley and we will wait to see who we play."

  18. 'We can win it in the way we are playing'

    FT: Czech Republic 0-1 England

Former England defender Gary Neville speaking on ITV: "Job done. Really professional. England aren’t going to win this tournament by outplaying France, Germany, Portugal and Spain.

"I don’t think we have the players to do that. We have good players.

"I genuinely think we will win it in the way we are playing now which is professional, by keeping clean sheets, making sure the back is protected by the two in midfield and then creating those individual moments of brilliance.

"Don’t be surprised if we play Germany or France we go to five at the back because I think we may need more than four defenders against [Kylian] Mbappe, [Antoine] Griezmann and [Karim] Benzema.

"If you are playing against Germany we can comfortably go to wing backs, I don’t rule anything out at this stage but I can't see that Gareth [Southgate] will play the same way against the Czech Republic as he would against France or Germany."
