  1. It wasn't pretty

    Czech Republic 0-1 England

Tomas Pekhart's shot in the 83rd minute was the first attempt at goal of the second half. Since 1980, this is the longest wait for a shot at goal in the second half of a Euros match.

  2. Post update

    FT: Czech Republic 0-1 England

Here were a few of England's best chances in the first half.

  3. Post update

    FT: Czech Republic 0-1 England

Those six teams which the Czech Republic could potentially face are the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Slovakia, Sweden or Poland.

  4. England win group, Scotland are out

    So it ends like this.

England win the group and face the second-placed team of France, Germany, Portugal or Hungary at Wembley next Tuesday.

Croatia finish second and play the second-placed team of Spain, Slovakia, Sweden or Poland in Copenhagen the previous day.

The Czech Republic go through in third and could face one of six teams in the last 16.

    Scotland are out.

    Group D
  5. Who has earned a place?

    FT: Czech Republic 0-1 England

    Chris Waddle

Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

    Harry Kane

Alongside Harry Kane I'd go Mason Mount, Bukayo Saka and you've got to play Raheem Sterling at the minute because he carries a threat on goal.

I'd like to see Sterling on the left or right, play higher and get him to run in behind. Teams cannot live with him. Sterling is very, very quick.

Jack Grealish will probably play the next game, but if Mount is available I'd still go Mount.

  6. Post update

    FT: Czech Republic 0-1 England

And this was the winning goal from Raheem Sterling.

  7. BreakingFULL-TIME

    Czech Republic 0-1 England

England are into the last 16 as group winners.

One of France, Germany, Portugal or Hungary awaits.

  8. Post update

    Czech Republic 0-1 England

Alex Kral decides there's nothing to lose and lets loose from miles out.

The shot is miles over the bar too.

Laurence: Don't blame Southgate for being cautious, blame a 24-team format where 4 points are enough to see you through.

Bob: It's going to be fun next Tuesday when England play a good team, they will get hammered.

  10. Post update

    Czech Republic 0-1 England

    Chris Waddle

Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The defence have had their moments. There were a few times where a good team would punish them. Pickford's been in form. Phillips and Rice look like a good partnership. For me it's all about that front four. Harry Kane is the captain and he's going to play, but who are the other three? That will be what decides how far we go in this tournament.

  11. INJURY TIME

    Czech Republic 0-1 England

    Three minutes to go.

  12. Post update

    Czech Republic 0-1 England

    Jude Bellingham

Almost! Jude Bellingham touches it past the full-back on the left as he's set on his way by Harry Kane.

He curls it in early, looking for Marcus Rashford, but it's headed away just in time.

SMS Message: Looks like we might get top of the group, 3 games, 7 points, ZERO goals conceded, and still people are morning. Yes we haven't set the world alight, but we haven't needed to yet. Cheer up people and get behind the boys! from Mike from London

SMS Message: England winning and qualifying as group winners but people still whining. Ridiculous. from Chris, Suffolk.

  14. Post update

    Czech Republic 0-1 England

    Chris Waddle

Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

They were looking for a touch maybe when Bellingham hits it forward is there a slight deflection? No. It's a nice finish. Well he gets a bit of luck, goes for the nutmeg and it goes in. But it'll not count. Gareth will say to him don't go in the box anymore now.

  15. Spurious reasons for optimism part 278

    Czech Republic 0-1 England

Croatia have lost against the eventual winner in three of their last four major tournaments (World Cup + European Championships): Spain at Euro 2012 (group stages), Portugal at Euro 2016 (round of 16) and France at World Cup 2018 (final).

The only team they've lost to so far is England.

  16. Post update

    Czech Republic 0-1 England

    Karen Carney

Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Saka got a standing ovation, he's been superb. Sancho comes on and there's been a change in all the attacking players apart from Kane. Calvert-Lewin, I thought was coming on, he's been sat down again for now. Excited to see Jadon Sancho!

  17. Post update

    Czech Republic 0-1 England

There's a quick VAR check but it's offside. The right call.

  18. DISALLOWED GOAL

    Czech Republic 0-1 England

Jordan Henderson scores but is ruled offside

Jordan Henderson thinks he's got his first England goal but he's offside!

Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford combine on the right. The Manchester United forward gets to the byline, cuts it back, it ricochets to Jude Bellingham and he pokes it through.

It falls to Henderson but he's offside as he helps it into the net.

  19. SUBSTITUTION

    Czech Republic 0-1 England

A Czech Republic change. Tomas Holes is replaced by Burnley's Matej Vydra.

Josh: Chelsea won the Champions League by being impossible to score against. Maybe three clean sheets from three games isn't such a bad thing?

Richard: I think England are going down the Greece route and will bore everyone to a one nil in the final. Football is coming home but not how anyone wants it to be!
