Hungary were really impressive on the break. They've mixed up their game really well, they've defended brilliantly and got their bodies on the line. But the quality they've shown on the counter, it was a wonderful goal.

Hands up who thought Hungary wouldn't be bottom with 45 minutes left of the group...

So that France penalty puts them back at the top of the table - Portugal are second and Hungary go through in third. Germany would go out.

Germany have conceded the first goal in each of their last four European Championship games (3 this year, 1 in 2016); they had only conceded first in four of their previous 19 such matches before this.

Karim Benzema scored his first goal with the French national team since 8 October 2015 against Armenia, five years and 258 days ago.

This is the longest gap between two goals with Les Bleus since... current manager Didier Deschamps, who waited almost seven years from 1990 to 1997.

You wouldn't say they deserve it. But that is a huge pressure penalty for him to put away having missed his last three.

Benzema sticks the ball into the back of the net for his country with real conviction, he whips it and sends Patricio the wrong way to get his team back in this game.

The Allianz stadium is illuminated aqua blue against the moody Munich sky - a colour clearly deemed uncontroversial by Uefa.

But inside, there was controversy - a spectator wearing a German shirt ran onto the pitch with a rainbow flag during the Hungarian anthem.

Moments later, a section of the visiting fans appeared to turn their back on the German anthem.

This is a football fixture which has taken on an added dimension – a clash of football and politics.

As the 11,000 supporters streamed in, members of the city’s LGBT community and human rights groups offered rainbow flags – in place of those colours not being beamed onto walls of the stadium.

Theresa, a local artist, told us she was sending a message to Hungary’s prime minster that his new law was wrong and was pleased that a row between Munich’s mayor and Uefa had gained international attention.

Christoph, Maurice and Enrico who all play for Street Boys Munich – the city’s prominent gay football team – were looking forward to the match but were unimpressed by Uefa's decision to temporarily change its logo to incorporate rainbow colours.

“It’s a pink-wash”, said Christoph, saying the move was like a whitewash but with a cynical attempt to burnish gay-friendly credentials that was in fact a “lie”.

I have to say I think Semedo is well within his rights to be there. As a full back that is your job. You track your runner, if he's trying to get into that space you're more than allowed to block his run.

The key to this Hungary performance is on the right hand side and not allowing those balls into the box. So disciplined, such a good performance.

Oh, Kai Havertz. He's better than this.

He gets two bites of the cherry to hit a shot in a packed box but after getting a reprieve from his first tame shot, he drags the second limply wide.

Surely VAR will check this. How's that a foul?
