Dave Payn: The only reason I want Italy to continue to do well in Euro 2020 is the opportunity to hear the team sing their national anthem (actually, they ARE a good side to watch as well)

Jason: Incredible feeling when that Italian national anthem starts up!!

Maxwell Silverhammer: Italy’s National anthem is the best

  2. Post update

    Italy 0-0 Austria

Marcel Sabitzer's chip won't reach Marko Arnautovic and Italy immediately go on the counter-attack.

It's launched over to Ciro Immobile but his touch lets him down.

    Austria's Marcel Sabitzer
  3. Post update

    Italy 0-0 Austria

Domenico Berardi tries to poke it through but it's blocked on the edge before Francesco Acerbi's pass races out for a goal kick.

  4. Post update

    Italy 0-0 Austria

    Danny Murphy

Former England midfielder on BBC One

I feel lucky being here. That Italian national anthem gave me goosebumps. Phenomenal. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Italians. The energy, the spirit they play with. The passion and the intensity they've shown and of course the quality. They've played really well at times in the games we've seen. It's a big ask of this Austrian team against this Italian side who are playing with so much confidence.

  5. Post update

    Italy 0-0 Austria

Domenico Berardi is immediately pressed by Marko Arnautovic and it leads to a dangerous ball in from Christoph Baumgartner.

Marcel Sabitzer can't get it under control, then Arnautovic picks up an early booking for a sliding challenge on the edge of the Italian box.

  6. Post update

    Really hope that translated correctly...

  7. KICK-OFF

    Italy 0-0 Austria

    Forza Italia! Geh nach Österreich!

  8. Post update

    Italy v Austria (20:00 BST)

Are Italy conceding a goal today?

    Hit the thumbs.

  9. 'Mancini has given Italy a new identity'

    Italy v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Jurgen Klinsmann

Former Germany head coach on BBC One

Roberto Mancini has transformed the style of play. We all know Italy defend well and then counter-attack and kill you in the last 20 minutes. Mancini has come in with a different philosophy - maybe because he coached in England.

He's come back and given Italy a new identity so now they go forward with a high-pressure. He believes in his players.

  10. Post update

    Italy v Austria (20:00 BST)

Yes! My favourite national anthem... The Italians are giving it everything.

  11. 'A shot to nothing'

    Italy v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Chris Sutton

Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a shot to nothing for Austria. No one gives this Austria team a chance.

  12. 'Austria have nothing to lose'

    Italy v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Jurgen Klinsmann

Former Germany head coach on BBC One

Marcel Sabitzer and Marko Arnautovic have developed a partnership - they both know what the other one is doing. Austria have nothing to lose. Their culture, their way of doing things, they always have a smile on their face and are always ready for a joke.

They will play with no fear.

  13. Post update

    Italy v Austria (20:00 BST)

Here come the players. A huge game for Austria! It's their first appearance in the knockout stages of the Euros.

  14. 'Alaba can flourish in central midfield'

    Italy v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Christian Fuchs

Former Austria left-back on BBC World Service

    David Alaba

David has a lot of qualities defending, but he has the same amount of qualities going forward. You should not lose a player in your attacking game of the calibre of David Alaba in a tournament like this when you can definitely have a solid, experienced defence in any game. Fode did well putting him on the side (flank) that game, but I feel him being central, getting more balls, demanding balls, being the vocal player in there, is his ideal role.

I would play him in central midfield against Italy. That’s where he played when I played for the national team. That’s where he can flourish the best.

  15. Who will they play next?

    Italy v Austria (20:00 BST)

Tonight's winner will play either Belgium or Portugal in next weekend's quarter-finals.

    Could be tasty!

  16. 'Italy are the in-form team'

    Italy v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Rio Ferdinand

Former England defender on BBC One

Italy are the in-form team of this tournament at the moment. They are the most cohesive, the most fluid in terms of tactics and the way they play. They haven't got the big superstar, but they've got the team.

  17. 'What Mancini has done is insane'

    Italy v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Jurgen Klinsmann

Former Germany head coach on BBC One

Roberto Mancini has given Italy a completely new face. It's insane what he has done. He's given them a completely new brand of how to play. They're courageous, they go forward and the way they switch positions - their front two run for him.

4zA: I believe Austria will shock everyone tonight by beating Italy. I'm predicting a 1-0 win for Austria.

  19. 'Team of the tournament'

    Italy v Austria (20;00 BST)

    Chris Sutton

Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I am really excited. Italy have been the team tournament but there is expectation and now the pressure is on. No one expects Austria to win this game.

  20. 'We couldn't live up to expectations at Euro 2016'

    Italy v Austria (20:00 BST)

    Christian Fuchs

Former Austria left-back on BBC World Service

It's our own fault that we’re not being spoken about. In 2016, we were the dark horses for a lot of people out there. But being at the occasion, being put on the spot, we couldn’t live up to the expectations. I think that having this experience, now five years later, the team took such a great development over the years that now they simply made a big step forward.
