Netherlands shots in the second half..... none.

    A battle on their hands.

They have 20 minutes to save themselves.

Keeping that ball alive at the far post. That's what it's all about. It's an over hit in-swinger from the Czech Republic, it goes to the far post. Kept alive, it's headed back across the six yard box and Holes has turned his shoulders round to see what's going on and he just heads it between three orange shirts. Perfect position. Perfect placement and they're in a perfect position to place this forward.

    Tomas Holes

The Czechs lead. A free-kick comes in from near the corner flag and it's a brilliant header across goal from Tomas Kalas. He picks out Tomas Holes, who is unmarked about six yards out and powers a header past three defenders on the line.

Kaderabek on the far post, He does everything right. He was surprised that the ball got to him. Opens himself out on his right foot to curl it in the corner. It was going in, Dumfries read it. The keeper was going to be nowhere if that went past him.

Only Edgar Davids (three) has received more red cards in the history of the Dutch national team than Matthijs de Ligt (two).

    De Ligt is 21.

Big chance for the Czechs here. Vladimir Coufal plays in a lovely cross which reaches Pavel Kaderabek at the far post. He takes a touch, opens his body and tries to pass it into the bottom corner but Denzel Dumfries throws himself in the way to block.

They've got to create chances now. They've got to move the Netherlands about but they can't do it with slow play. The more they have the ball now the more they'll be expected to do something with it. It's not their game to play pretty football. Creating chances is.

How the Dutch will be wishing Donyell Malen had scored that chance. They'd have been 1-0 up and still with 11 men.

Definite red card for De Ligt, never understand why players handball like that when likelihood is definite red card when never a certainty of a goal

    Paul

Why oh why does it take VAR Over 5 minutes to make that decision? I don't get it. It's a no brainier and one replay was enough to see it was handball red card.

    Tristen

As a Czech Arsenal fan, I've just forgiven de Ligt for letting spurs reach the champions league final

The Netherlands needed to pick the pace up with 11 men. Are they going to do it with 10? They are going to have to play more of a defensive game now because there's always going to be a man over. Czech Republic will use it, they'll get it wide and get crosses in.

Richard: Obvious red card. Not sure why it took so long to decide. Shick is in on goal if de Ligt doesn't handle it. Cat amongst the pigeons now.

ashic: Netherlands can't complain about that. Handled the ball to deny a clear opportunity as the last man. This makes this match very interesting. Can the underdogs pull off an upset?

Tim Senna: That's got to be one of the most audacious sendings off in knockout Euros history Moment of madness from De Ligt

    Love this kind of stat.

Four Dutch players have ever been sent off at the European Championship - all against Czechoslavkia or the Czech Republic.
