The Czechs are setting traps when the Dutch go back to the keeper. They want them to go short and when they do get into the Czech Republic half they are defending deep and organised. They are making sure they are very organised and very hard to pass through.

It's Denzel Dumfries' world and we're all just living in it.

For some reason the right wing-back pops up on the left wing to chase onto a long ball. He heads the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper but his shot from a tight angle is blocked by good defending.

The Czechs are straight back in to what looks like a 5-4-1 all the time, making sure there's no gaps.

Donyell Malen is almost onto a loose ball for the Dutch but it just runs through to Tomas Vaclik.

What surprised the Czech Republic players, it beat all of them and the goalkeeper, but De Ligt kept it alive. He just couldn't get his header on target but that's a sign of the quality that's going to come into the box.

I do like De Ligt. He's only 21. He doesn't like anyone in and around him on his toes, he likes to be able to defend naturally. He doesn't like too much protection. He's that good, he's strong.

Memphis Depay tries to get past a couple of defenders but the ball runs through to the Czech keeper. Lively start.

Tomas Soucek is fouled and the Czechs have a free-kick in crossing range. Well actually they take it super quickly and the chance is gone. You'd expect them to have made more of that.

I'm thinking that the Netherlands do have to be on their metal today. They are a very talented side but this Czech Republic side will stand toe to toe with this side. They'll give it everything they've got and if the Netherlands aren't at it today, they could get a shock.
