So it'll be an all-London affair in Nottingham for the final on 29 February. We look forward to seeing you again for that one.

It wasn't to be for either of the Manchester sides tonight, and for the Red Devils, it's their second domestic cup exit in four days, after their entertaining 3-2 defeat by City on Saturday in the FA Cup.

Thanks for checking in. I hope you enjoy the rest of your evening. Cheers.

  3. FT: Arsenal 2-1 Man Citypublished at 21:32 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2020

Two uncharacteristic defensive mistakes did the damage for Man City as the first half, as first Gemma Bonner gave the ball away for Vivianne Miedema's opener, before Ellie Roebuck let Danielle van de Donk's strike slip through her fingers for the second.

Ellen White saw a penalty saved by Manuela Zinsberger after the break for the visitors, although they did halve the deficit moments later from the resulting corner through Bonner's header.

But Arsenal were able to hold on and they continue their bid for a sixth Continental League Cup crown.
