GOAL - Bayern Munich 1-0 Eintracht Frankfurtpublished at 17:49 British Summer Time 23 May 2020

    Leon Goretzka (17 mins)

It had very much been coming, and that's a fine opener. Thomas Muller is the man sprung this time, down the left this time, he looks up and picks out a lovely pass into the heart of the area. It's just beyond Robert Lewandowski but arriving like a train behind him is midfielder Leon Goretzka who opens up his body and sidefoots it on the bounce into the roof of the net.

    A really pleasing connection.

  2. CLOSE!published at 17:47 British Summer Time 23 May 2020

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Eintracht Frankfurt

And that's an absolute sitter. How has that not gone in?

Josh Kimmich stands up a lovely cross from the right, Benjamin Pavard is all alone no more than seven yards out and the Frenchman plants a powerful header right into Kevin Trapp's midriff.

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Eintracht Frankfurt

    CLANNNGGGGG!!!

A great noise in an empty stadium. Robert Lewandowski smacks the bar with a left-footed drive from 15 yards after a corner wasn't dealt with.

Great work from the sound engineer.

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Eintracht Frankfurt

Frankfurt have got through the opening 10 minutes unscathed, they'll take that. Bayern were so good against Chelsea weren't they and one man who shone that night - Alphonso Davies - burns down the left and sees his cross cut out.

Jerome Boateng was sent off inside the opening 10 minutes at Frankfurt before Christmas as Bayern were whacked 5-1.

Kingsley Coman gets his wheels rolling down the Bayern right, he looks to break clear of the defence and goes down...

No foul given. A sigh of relief for Evan N'Dicka.

Eintracht have lost their last four and kicked off just five points above the relegation play-off place. They need some points on the board, and fast.

Andre Silva is up front on his own and he's nearly in but Manuel Neuer sweeps up about 30 yards out.

How big a challenge awaits Frankfurt?

Bayern have won 40 points in 16 Bundesliga fixtures under coach Hans Flick, and scored 50 goals.

They have scored more goals in the 16 games under Flick than 13 clubs have in their entire season.

I say routine - Bayern have won the Bundesliga for the past seven years so they know a thing or two about title race pressure.

In fact it's 11 years now since a team other than Dortmund or Bayern won the title. A two horse race?

So then, Dortmund have trimmed Bayern Munich's lead at the top of the table to just one point.

The champions can make it four again with a home win against Eintracht Frankfurt. Will it be routine?
