More from Nuno: "It is a long journey. We wanted to go as far as we could. Everybody is disappointed and we should not ignore all the effort of 14 months of hard work, achieving really good things.

"We should prepare well for next season and make good decisions to allow us to continue growing.

"It is time to reflect and analyse. The team that started the game is the same as the first season. We have made mistakes we cannot repeat. We need players who can make us stronger, no doubt about it.

"It is not about what we request. We operate on common sense and dialogue. Let’s look at our future and what we need. The club has been amazing. Started in Championship. Making good decisions will help us to be stronger."

  8. 'Huge year for Wolves'published at 22:26 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Wolves 0-1 Sevilla

    Matt Jarvis
Former Wolves & Norwich winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Next year is a huge year for Wolves to go and attack it. If, at the end of it, there is no European football and no silverware, I think some of the players will start looking to move somewhere else.

Raul Jimenez is not going to be playing every week at any club above Wolves, and as a forward you want to be playing week in week out or you lose your sharpness.

  9. 'We want to be back'published at 22:25 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Conor CoadyImage source, Getty Images

Wolves captain Conor Coady on BT Sport: "It's tough, a tough one to take. It will take a long time to get over but every single player has left everyting on that pitch all year. We are gutted.

"We started terrific, we put no blame on Raul Jimenez, he scores so many goals for us. We should not have conceded. We have lost to a top-class side. We pushed them.

"We had a sucker punch, we wanted to try and do something special. More than ever we want to be back, the competition is amazing and if anyone says otherwise they are wrong.

"We didn't want to make up the numbers and we got to the last eight which is an incredible achievement for a team that was in the Championship three years ago.

"I am proud of every single person that is involved in this club."

Paul: Say one thing about Wolves, they've had a long long season yet no matter what happens Nuno doesn't moan about playing too much like the likes of Klopp and Guardiola do. Pure class manager and team and its still a good season for them.

Simon Turner: Wolves began well but that was a superb team performance from Sevilla. United will have their hands full in the semi.

Sevilla were far too good and we couldn't get going. Well over a year of playing took its toll. Hugely proud, though.

    James

Fair play Wolves, they've been playing in this competition for over a year now. Sadly tho, Jimenez, Traore and Neves will move on after this...& maybe Nuno too

    Wolves

Nuno Espirito SantoImage source, Getty Images

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo to BT Sport: "We have frustration, in the last minutes it is something that has happened to us many times. We required focus on a set piece. I am proud of the boys, we played a tough team and we had moments, small details, small margins.

"That happens in football. We came this far and now it's over. Let's rest and look to the future. We need more players to help us, it's a small squad.

"Sevilla made us run, we made a big effort to control it but of course there were players who gave everything and the legs and brain doesn't work so good. We must be proud of ourselves, admit we made mistakes during the season that we need to rectify to compete at a high level. We must work harder and become stronger.

"We are here because we did things good the previous season. European football is something that we chase because we want to improve and compete agianst the best. The Premier League is challenging enough, it's like playing the Champions League every week."

    Wolves 0-1 Sevilla

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The right team won. Having said that, I think Manchester United should be winning. Sevilla are a decent team but Man Utd should have enough. Ocampos scored the goal but they hardly laid a glove on Wolves, even with all that possession.

Ever Banega is very dangerous with balls into that area and Lucas Ocampos has looked the most likely scorer in this game.

It's a great header and, as painful as it is to say, it is deserved. It is deserved by quite a distance.
