    Fulham 1-0 Cardiff

Tricky times now for Cardiff defender Dion Sanderson after conceding that penalty.

It's clearly knocked his concentration as he needlessly concedes a corner.

Nothing comes from it as Cardiff clear and on the break, Anthony Knockaert gets a booking for stopping Nathaniel Mendez-Laing in his tracks.

That's how you take a penalty!

Aleksandar Mitrovic puts Fulham ahead with a brilliantly struck spot kick.

Absolutely no goalkeeper in the world is stopping that one from hitting the top right corner.

Mitrovic with his 24th league goal of the season and it could be a huge one in the context of the next few weeks.

  3. PENALTY TO FULHAMpublished at 34 mins

    Fulham 0-0 Cardiff

Cross into Cardiff's box from Cyrus Christie and Aleksandar Mitrovic goes to ground.

Dion Sanderson the man to bring him down as he tried to head in and referee Gavin Ward has a great view to decide to point to the spot almost immediately.

Lots and lots of build-up and energy driving forward from Fulham but still no clear way through.

Ball breaks to Harry Arter 25 yards out but he can't replicate that superb strike from Tuesday at Forest as he slices it well wide.

    Fulham 0-0 Cardiff

Fulham force their first corner but can't find the right man with a series of crosses from the right.

Good headed clearance from Dion Sanderson for Cardiff.

    Fulham 0-0 Cardiff

    And we're off again.

Cardiff still pressing high on Fulham but how long can they maintain this tempo off the ball?

Fulham may need to bide their time somewhat in this one.

  7. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Fulham 0-0 Cardiff

That's by far and away the best chance we've had.

Cardiff harrying Fulham as much as they can and not allowing them time on the ball.

Callum Paterson hunts down Tim Ream on the ball on halfway and forces another corner.

Sadly not the quality delivery to match from the set piece though for Cardiff.

    Time for a drinks break!

    Fulham 0-0 Cardiff

Not really got going this one so far I think it's fair to say.

Plenty of energy from both sides, just lacking the control and composure to find the right pass or delivery the ball at the right time.

Should be goals in this game with the quality of players.

There's a chance as once more Nathaniel Mendez-Laing is all over any loose Fulham pass and a quick shot has to be pushed behind for a corner by Marek Rodak.

    Fulham 0-0 Cardiff

Joe Ralls with the set-piece delivery that Marek Rodak punched clear in Fulham's goal.

No quality sadly on the follow-ups for the visitors and the danger passes for Fulham once more.

Decent energy being shown from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing once again driving Cardiff forward.

Anthony Knockaert handles on the edge of Fulham's area to concede the free-kick...

Cardiff hoping for a positive result tonight to stay ahead of the other play-off chasers, including old rivals Swansea of course.

The Swans are just a point and a place behind and play title-chasing Leeds on Sunday.

Fulham could guarantee their play-off berth if the results fall in their favour this weekend.

    Fulham 0-0 Cardiff

Joe Bryan with a wasted opportunity for Fulham to get a decent cross in from the left.

Into the old "corridor of uncertainty" across the Cardiff box but nobody running on to receive it.

    Fulham 0-0 Cardiff

Michael Hector getting a talking to from referee Gavin Ward for knocking an advancing Callum Paterson off his stride.

Free-kick on halfway for the Bluebirds not quite to plan as it tried to find Nathaniel Mendez-Laing running in late from the right.

    Ball cleared by Fulham.

    Fulham 0-0 Cardiff

Decent strike from Harrison Reed for Fulham's first effort on target, in a central area this time.

Easy grab for Alex Smithies right in front of his eyes. Glove-warmer.

    Fulham 0-0 Cardiff

Harrison Reed causes a moment of slight alarm for Cardiff keeper Alex Smithies.

He nearly catches him out on his line with a cross not quite where he intended but in the end it goes through harmlessly without finding another player or creeping in under the bar.

Signs of how this one could pan out early on.

Fulham feeling their way in with time on the ball while Cardiff's front two in Callum Paterson and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing look keen to close them down quickly.

Will Vaulks unleashes his trademark long throw for the first time tonight for Cardiff.

Bit Fulham pass that early test with flying colours and clear their lines.

Gavin Ward is our referee as the sun continues to set over the banks of the River Thames in west London.

Let's hope these two serve us up a match to go with that very idyllic sight.

Players once again take a knee in solidarity with Black Lives Matter before Fulham get us started!

Shall we get this show on the road?

Both teams make their way out onto the pitch at Craven Cottage, currently bathed in the evening sunshine.

Fair to say we're hoping for - and expecting - a higher-quality showing than Huddersfield and Luton offered up earlier.

With 23 goals for the season, no striker in the Championship has scored more times than Aleksandar Mitrovic in 2019-20.

The Serbia frontman has not found the net since February, however, failing to score in either of his two appearances since football restarted.

Time to end the drought? You wouldn't bet against it.
