He regains his balance and works a bit of space for himself on the edge of the box before having a go at goal but his powerful shot is blocked.

First booking of the game as Cagliari's Marko Rog is penalised for a foul.

Cristiano Ronaldo taps the ball in but doesn't celebrate because he knows he is well offside. That's the first we've seen of him so far. Very quiet opening 15 minutes.

The hosts are dominating midfield with Juventus struggling to get the ball off them.

Cagliari are well up for this game and Gianluigi Buffon is called into action once again as he keeps out a decent volley by Federico Mattiello.

Gonzalo Higuain loves a goal against Cagliari. He's got seven in his last eight games against them and almost gets his eighth as he runs onto a nice clipped ball into the box but his low drive is denied by Alessio Cragno.

Simone Muratore has Juventus' first shot on target with an effort from outside the box but it is a routine save for Alessio Cragno.

Gonzalo Higuain over hits a ball into the box and it is an easy gather for home keeper Alessio Cragno.

Moments later, Cagliari get the first on target as Luca Gagliano strikes from distance but Buffon scoops up at his near post.

Entertaining start. Juventus certainly don't look to be going through the motions in these early stages.

Ciro Immobile is certainly going to take some stopping.

The Lazio striker scored his 35th league goal of the season in a 2-0 win against Brescia earlier today.

His latest goal took him above Robert Lewandowski's total of 34 goals to be the leading scorer in Europe.

"What's left to play for in the league?"

Nothing collectively as far as Juventus are concerned beyond finishing with back-to-back wins, but Cristiano Ronaldo has every reason to finish the season with a flurry of goals.

That's because the race for the European Golden Shoe is still very much on.

Ciro Immobile is the man with one hand (foot?) on the Golden Shoe at the moment, after scoring his 35th league goal of the season earlier tonight.

Ronaldo trails by four but with two games remaining, starting with a fixture against a side he scored a hat-trick against earlier this season, the Portugal star will fancy his chances of catching his rival.
