Credit to Aston villa, they are better disciplined and better organised in this second half.

They are staying in the game and at long at it's 2-0 and then if they score a goal it changes everything about this game.

This is a top save from Sian Rogers this time, keeping out Georgia Stanway's rising, close-range effort, palming it behind for a corner.

Caroline Weir's subsequent corner goes too deep and comes to nothing.

It's Villa's best chance of the second half so far, but Emma Follis is denied by England keeper Ellie Roebuck. It's a super save, one-on-one.

Follis capitalised on some hesitant Man City play near the halfway line and raced away, through on goal, but Roebuck stood up strong.

As we approach the hour mark here in the West Midlands, Sam Mewis threads a lovely through ball for Janine Beckie, who has the pace to get away from the defence but her goal-bound strike is well saved by Villa keeper Sian Rogers.

Villa give Sam Mewis a little bit too much time on the edge of the area but her left-footed shot goes over the bar.

Aston Villa have a bit more bite to them in the second half.

They're getting up to the ball, getting a foot in, putting a tackle in and having a little bit of a go at Manchester City, as if they have a bit more belief.

We didn't see that in the first half.

The USA's Sam Mewis plays a good ball down the right for Canada's Janine Beckie to race on to, but her cross is just slightly too high. Good football though. Man City have threats all over the pitch.

Keira Walsh and Caroline Weir combine well in the City midfield and Weir races in to the Villa box, but her effort is held by Sian Rogers.

That's a good save from Rogers, who will want to put the first half behind her as quickly as possible.

That was a great chance. Great pressing from Emma Follis to force the error from Gemma Bonner.

I thought Follis might go by herself because she's got great pace and she can finish chances like that, but it was great vision to feed Silva in.

Roebuck was in no-man's land and I can't believe Silva didn't get that on target.

The hosts almost pull one back but Diana Silva - who is having an impressive debut - rolls her shot just wide from the left, after good work from Emma Follis in the middle.

Villa, defending the Holte End in this second half, start it on the front foot.

The players are back out at Villa Park, where Kayne West and Rihanna's All of the lights blasts out on the PA.

Now the music stops and silence falls once again.

Manchester City could be further ahead and be four or five goals up in this game.

It's as though the chances have come too easy - they haven't had to work to open up this Aston Villa side.

If Aston Villa hadn't made those mistakes it makes you wonder where they would be in the game.

Would it still be 0-0 and be competitive?

Now they need to keep getting the ball into City's box because Ellie Roebuck hasn't had a save to make.

Villa can count themselves unfortunate not to have pulled a goal back, though.

Stine Larsen had the ball in the net on 32 minutes, slotting in on the rebound after Ramona Petzelberger's initial effort, and the flag was up against Petzelberger.

But replays seem to show Petzelberger was onside.

Man City have been gifted two goals courtesy of some disastrous moments at the back from a Villa point of view.

This is the closest Villa have come to a goal so far but Stine Larsen's far-post header across goal is cleared off the line by England left-back Demi Stokes.

A long ball over the top is raced on to by Georgia Stanway, who knocks the ball past keeper Sian Rogers and tries to find the net from a tight angle on the right - for her hat-trick - but hits her effort high and wide.

Some neat football from Man City leads to a chance for a WSL debut goal for the USA's Sam Mewis, but she drags her low first-time shot just wide.
