They will want a bit more spark going forward in the second half but lots to be pleased about.

It's been an accomplished performance from Wales so far.

Finland are trying to play counter-attacking football especially down the left-hand side but everything they have thrown at Wales they have contended with so far.

Wales looked better in the first 20 minutes but they've swept everything up and Hennessey has had a nice easy game so far.

Wales probably slightly edged it in terms of looking the more likely scorer.

Kieffer Moore's disallowed goal was the closest we came, but it was probably the right call as he tugged back his marker.

Ilmari Niskanen crosses, but Ethan Ampadu gets a vital touch at the near post to snuff out the danger.

Ampadu looks very promising in central defence. One of the positives for Wales as we approach half time.

Gareth Bale skips past Jere Uronen who wipes him out. Freekick to Wales and a crossing chance, but Finland are able to head clear.

If you were playing a drinking game where every time Jonny Williams was fouled you had to drink, you'd be hammered and it isn't even half time.

Both players went for it, Morrell got there second but there was nothing in it, nothing heavy.

Joe Morrell is booked for a foul on Glen Kamara that the Finland players didn't like.

Williams a man with a target on his back?

Ilmari Niskanen is the danger man for the hosts, but Wayne Hennessey cuts out his cross.

The winger has certainly had the pace to get away from Ben Davies a couple of times.

Ampadu's long-anticipated switch to centre-back

Wales have long seen Ethan Ampadu's future as a centre-back.

Ryan Giggs' predecessor, Chris Coleman, thought the Chelsea youngster would eventually end up in central defence, having given Ampadu his Wales debut in midfield.

This game has already demonstrated the benefits of moving him back, with Ampadu able to carry the ball out of defence with a greater authority than some who might not have had his experience of dictating play in midfield.

That's the second foul on Williams already, he gets fouled more than any other player out there.

What Wales miss

Noticeable for regular watchers of Wales that they are missing two huge presences in their midfield.

Aaron Ramsey links the midfield and attack and Joe Allen keeps Wales ticking. No doubt they are two big misses.

Wales also need a fully fit Gareth Bale and I'm not sure we're seeing that tonight.

The Finnish front two look a little isolated and Wales are doing a good job of winning more than their share of the ball in midfield.

Wales will be the happier side as we approach the halfway mark in the first period.

And he's driving at the defence which I like, more poor passing from Finland in midfield.

James managed to find Bale but he whipped a left-footed effort wide from just outside the area.
