    Tottenham 3-0 LASK

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho: "I'm happy for the squad. We changed lot of players...others have worked so hard. Normally I wouldn't do it in the first match in the phase when we're playing at home but I trust the boys and it was good.

"The performance was solid and safe. We could have scored more goals but it's not a knockout game. Just three points. If we had supporters in the stadium it would have been more. They bring an extra bit of energy.

"In the end it was an opportunity for players to play and get confidence.

"I feel for the subs - everybody wants to play.

"Last season we had lots of problems without a strike force and without winger and attackers in some parts of the season. I look at my side now and I have so many options."

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers on BT Sport: "It was a very good win, it's nice to get the points on the board and a clean sheet. We had to work hard, there's areas where we can get better.

"They play a diamond and it's a system where they can hurt you on the inside. When they had the ball they were a threat but we killed the game in the second half.

"The players deserve a huge amount of credit. They can be better, we need more movement at the top end of the pitch because we could have got in more."

A tough night for Celtic who gave a better account of themselves in the second half but still didn't have enough to get past Serie A leaders AC Milan, who ran out 3-1 winners.

In the other game in that group, Lille beat 10-man Sparta Prague 4-1 - Turkish forward Yusuf Yazici bagged a hat-trick in Prague to go top of that group on goal difference.

The highest scoring game of the night game came from Spain where Villarreal beat Polish side Sivasspor 5-3. The visitors put up a fight but not enough to get a result from La Liga's second placed side.

Sporting Braga beat AEK Athens 3-0 in the other match in Leicester's group. Leicester will face the Greek side next week.

Royal Antwerp beat Ludogorets Razgrad 2-1 away from home in Bulgaria and will face Spurs in their next group match.

"We missed a lot of opportunities and gave some space for them but I think we are solid.

"It is always good to score, especially for strikers. It is my job. If I help my team-mates I am happy, if I can score it is even better.

"I know Jose Mourinho is a winner and wants to win a trophy here. I think the squad deserves a trophy. I am very positive for the season but let's do it step by step. We will fight for it because I think the fans and the club deserve it."

"It's been stop start for me with little injuries but I feel good now, that was another hour and a goal. It takes a while to get up to speed and I missed pre-season."
