  2. Man Utd 'one of the favourites'published at 22:27 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2021

Man Utd 0-0 Real Sociedad (Agg: 4-0)

Real Sociedad winger Adnan Januzaj tells BT Sport: "Compared to the first game, today we showed we are much better team than the first game. We conceded four goals too easily but now we have to focus on the league.

"When the penalty did not go in, we thought it is not for us anymore. We had another chance just after, that is two, so if we scored it would be a bit more exciting.

"We were much more dominant in the game today, we closed the gaps and it was harder for them to score. We had good opportunities to score too and lost, that is it.

"I think Manchester United are one of the favourites, with the team and players they have got, they have a lot of chance to win this.

"The public (supporters) is always important for the team, they are there to push you and we we had them in the first leg it would have been a different game."

  5. 'We are a tight group'published at 22:18 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2021

Man Utd 0-0 Real Sociedad (Agg: 4-0)

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tells BT Sport: "You remember the defeats more so than the wins. To get the semi-finals in any competition, you're so close. We've had three of them, we've lost one, so this group knows how it feels.

On Shola Shoretire: "Shola has got some skills, he's going to make a very good player here. It's a platform tonight, just 15 minutes but it's something to remember for him at Old Trafford. Maybe he would've enjoyed it more with fans because they give you so much energy. But I'm sure all the fans will see him soon."

On the atmosphere within the squad: "We are a group that are very tight together. You come in, your work every day, you have a few setbacks and knocks. We want to go further but when you have failed before you want to do better. The culture is really improving and we've got some fantastic players and fantastic coaches."

On Man United's upcoming fixtures: "Now until the international break, I think we have six or seven games - we have Chelsea, Leicester and West Ham - all important games, so these three weeks now are going to be massive for us. But confidence is good and hopefully we will get a few players back in."

  7. 'The results are coming through'published at 22:13 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2021

FT: Man Utd 0-0 Real Sociedad (Agg: 4-0)

    Manchester United

Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe tells BT Sport: "(Being played in midfield) is just something the gaffer did, we did not get the win but we are through.

"I am a versatile player, my natural place is central defence but I did it for the team. It is a while since I played in midfield but most important thing is that we are through.

"The season has been up and down for me and we need to get more minutes and momentum.

"This is Man United, all players who play for us are talented and the manager always has options. the personalities that United bring through are determined players and that shows when we get the chance to play.

"It takes a while to get momentum going, have faith in the manager and we are starting to build that. It is not something done in a year or two, it is a long project and having faith in the coaching staff. The results are coming through.

"The disappointments always stay with you and you do not want to feel like that again, you try your best and ensure it does not happen again."

  8. 'We lost to the better team'published at 22:09 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2021

Leicester 0-2 Slavia Prague (Agg: 0-2)

    Leicester City

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers to BT Sport: "We lost to the better team. I take responsibility for the team I've picked. I picked a team I felt could win the game.

"We didn't create enough over two legs. We didn't defend with any intensity. We gave away two disappointing goals. The better team won.

We started pretty well. We didn't have enough quality to break them down.

"I don't want to give too many excuses. [We had] players not available tonight at the top end of the field. However I still expected us to show up more. They'll learn from it.

"We're disappointed to be out but we know we weren't good enough.

"Good luck to Slavia in the next round."

That has nothing to do with Leicester's injuries or resting players and everything to do with them deciding their priorities lie elsewhere. If a team with a wage budget 50 times more than Slavia can't compete against them then there is something wrong. Lost all respect for Leicester tonight. I sincerely hope they don't qualify for the Champions League.

Jester101: Well, that was dull. But good to blood the youth and very very good news in terms of other teams dropping out.

If Leicester can't compete in a 2nd tier European competition then they've no chance in the Champions League..Rodgers ain't all that mind..

Chris Judge: No more Thursday night distractions for Leicester. That might help cement their top four status! Are you worried United, Chelsea, Liverpool?

Akinpelu: Looks like James Justin is as important to Leicester as Jamie Vardy after all.

Leicester going out at this stage is surprising! Does this mean they’ll push on for top four or see their season fizzle out?
