However he buries his shot well over the bar when he had time to pick his shot out.

On the stroke of half-time, Bournemouth win a free-kick on the edge of the box as Leo Ostigard, who's on a yellow card, brings down Dan Gosling.

Not the challenge I'd be putting in if I were on a booking but maybe there's a reason I'm writing about this stuff rather than playing..

Anyway the free-kick is fired into the wall by Diego Rico and that's a waste.

A fair amount of tough challenges going in after that Coventry goal as Bournemouth look to assert themselves once more.

Not long remains in this first half and the hosts will be the happier.

Lewis Cook brings down Coventry's Ben Sheaf and now the Sky Blues have the chance to level it up.

That looked like it hurt.

Dominic Hyam slides to clear Dominic Solanke's low shot and, with the surface very slick this evening, slides pelvis-first into the post.

There was a deep CLANK as he went in as well. He's cleared to continue, fortunately.

Dominic Solanke is making himself a bit of a nuisance for Coventry this evening.

His latest attempt on goal sees him turn and shoot from the corner of the box as he forces a save from goalkeeper Marko Marosi.

Gustavo Hamer just put a crossfield ball which veered away into the feet of Fankaty Dabo as Coventry break upfield.

I've never seen such a perfect long range pass. There's no way he meant that.

Unfortunately for the Sky Blues duo, Bournemouth win the ball back moments later.

There's a high tempo to this game as we approach the half-hour mark and it's mostly coming from Bournemouth.

Dominic Solanke puts in an adventurous challenge for the ball which sees Ryan Giles fall into a heap.

Leo Ostigard goes into the book for...winning the ball in a tackle.

The Coventry man looks perplexed and to be fair, I would be too.

Gustavo Hamer looks to take the bull by the horns and get Coventry back into this game.

He sends a dipping shot towards the Bournemouth goal as the visitors struggle to close him down, but his effort travels over the bar.

Have just seen a replay of that Bournemouth chance as in full speed it was a little hard to see how on earth Coventry avoided conceding again.

Dominic Hyam and goalkeeper Marko Marosi both make a succession of clearances and saves to thwart the Cherries' efforts.

That should have been 2-0.

Oof, chaos in the Coventry box as the hosts just about keep Bournemouth at bay.

Adam Smith and latterly Sam Surridge try to poke and head home from close range as the Sky Blues just about clear their lines.

Coventry win a corner and get the chance to put Bournemouth under a fair bit of pressure for the first time in this game.

However, as the ball sails into a crowded box, it's cleared away and the Sky Blues manage to put the ball out for a Bournemouth throw-in.

Not ideal.

There's a fair amount of long low balls being played tonight, presumably to try and prosper on the conditions.

It's fair to say this isn't the start Coventry had planned for as they look to maintain their unbeaten home record in the Championship this season.

They're offering little in response to Bournemouth's fine start so far.
