And that's the break at the City Ground.

Derby with the lead courtesy of Martyn Waghorn's stunning free-kick.

Graeme Shinnie could've made it two but Brice Samba made a smart save from the one-on-one.

Work for hosts Forest to do then after the interval.

Derby should be 2-0 up here.

Graeme Shinnie spurns a glorious chance to make it so as he is slipped in to space behind Forest's defence by Nathan Byrne on the edge of the box.

    What a strike!

That direct free-kick does indeed lead to a goal for Derby and a brilliant left-footed effort too from the returning Martyn Waghorn.

It strikes the underside of the crossbar, bounces down over the line and into the net for the Rams.

Brice Samba's starting position might come into question but it was still a very well-taken set-piece.

Jason Knight is a magnet for fouls it seems!

He's tripped again by Sammy Ameobi on the edge of Forest's penalty box.

    Forest 0-0 Derby

Derby's turn to go close this time.

Graeme Shinnie with the best effort of the game so far.

Kamil Jozwiak tees him up on his left on the edge of the area and his left-foot shot is always curling away from goal but does just enough to force Brice Samba to tip it wide of the right post.

    Forest 0-0 Derby

    Chance again for Forest.

Sammy Ameobi floats a cross in from the left and Ryan Yates meets it unmarked and decides to stoop for a header.

May have been better off meeting it on the volley instead as it bounces tamely wide right of the Derby goal.

    Forest 0-0 Derby

Martyn Waghorn somehow evades the offside trap to get clear for Derby but then has to hold it up to allow Lee Buchanan again to deliver a cross from the left.

Derby force a first corner of the game but they can't muscle their way free in the air on a couple of occasions to get a header on target.

Sammy Ameobi picks the ball up again on Forest's left and decides this time to cut inside and take a shot on his right.

A floaty one towards goal but an easy take for David Marshall in the Derby goal.

Meanwhile, Derby try to stick a ball into the area from the left wing through Lee Buchanan but there is no white shirt in there to meet it.

    Forest 0-0 Derby

Niggly in the middle third already as Forest's Sammy Ameobi snaps at the heels of Jason Knight a fraction too late and concedes a free-kick.

Joe Lolley also trying to slalom his way through the Derby midfield but he is stopped in his tracks.

Knight again goes to ground under a stiff challenge as this time Forest left-back Nicholas Ioannou is too keen in the tackle.

Massive penalty shout for Derby but nothing given.
