  1. HALF-TIMEpublished at 19:50 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2020

    Preston 0-0 Millwall

A truly forgettable half of football from a Preston point of view.

Millwall will be slightly happier, especially given their difficult circumstances in the absence of their first-team coaches and manager Gary Rowett.

A couple of good saves from Declan Rudd have kept the well-drilled visitors out.

  2. Postpublished at 19:48 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2020

    Preston 0-0 Millwall

There'll be one minute of first-half stoppage time at Deepdale, which is the same as the number of shots (on or off target) that the hosts have managed so far. Ouch.

We're off and running in our remaining five games.

Who will take advantage out of Bournemouth and Bristol City to close the gap on leaders Reading? Can Sheffield Wednesday move closer to zero points?

    We're about to find out.

  4. Hughton aims to continue solid Forest startpublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2020

Luton v Nottm Forest (19:45 GMT)

It's been a solid, if unspectacular, start to life at Nottingham Forest for Chris Hughton - who has followed up a win in his first game with two 1-1 draws at home to sides around them in the bottom third of the table.

Lyle Taylor got off the mark for the Reds in their draw with rivals Derby last time out and has scored seven goals in his past five games against Luton, while playing for AFC Wimbledon and Charlton.

The Hatters recovered from back-to-back defeats with victory at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and could move into the play-offs if they win here.

  6. Can Rams or Bluebirds pick up form?published at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2020

    Derby v Cardiff (19:45 GMT)

    Harry WilsonImage source, PA Media

It's been a poor start to the season for Derby, who have lost five of their opening seven games and are sitting in the relegation zone.

The Rams picked up a point in the East Midlands derby against Nottingham Forest last Friday and Phillip Cocu's side will be looking to build on that.

They host a Cardiff side coming into this with back-to-back draws.

The omens look good for Bluebirds boss Neil Harris though as he has won each of his last three Championship meetings with Derby.

  7. Postpublished at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2020

    Preston 0-0 Millwall

The Lions' Kenneth Zohore skilfully creates room for himself to shoot from inside the area, but his effort goes well wide. In fact, it goes so wide, that'll be a throw-in.

  8. Postpublished at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2020

    Preston 0-0 Millwall

Preston haven't tested Bartosz Bialkowski yet. The visitors are having the better of this one so far. Just over 10 minutes until the break.

  9. Can Huddersfield get back to winning ways?published at 19:32 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2020

    Birmingham v Huddersfield (19:45 GMT)

    Huddersfield celebrateImage source, PA Media

After back-to-back wins Huddersfield suffered their third defeat of the season against Preston at home in their last outing.

The Terriers will be looking to get back to winning ways against a Birmingham side who have not had the best of starts to the season.

The Blues have recorded just the one win so far, against Brentford in the first game of the season.

Only three points separate the two sides in the league but a win tonight is already looking important for both teams, even at this early stage.

Lions skipper Alex Pearce is alongside Kevin Nugent on the touchline tonight. Pearce took himself out of this evening's squad so he could assist Nugent from the sidelines, with the club's first-team coaching staff all self-isolating after Gary Rowett and two of his backroom staff tested positive for Covid-19.

  11. Postpublished at 19:25 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2020

    Preston 0-0 Millwall

Halfway through the first half at Deepdale, Millwall - under the temporary management of Under-23 boss Kevin Nugent - have grown in to the game nicely and Jed Wallace has forced North End keeper Declan Rudd in to a smart save.

  12. Owls bid to reach -1 pointspublished at 19:22 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2020

Rotherham v Sheff Wed (19:45 GMT)

Sheffield Wednesday started the campaign with a 12-point deduction but, after picking up two wins and two draws so far, they could move up to the lofty heights of -1 points tonight with a win.

Standing in their way are a Rotherham side looking for their second victory of the season, and looking to bounce back after a 3-0 loss at high-flying Reading last time out.

  13. Postpublished at 19:18 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2020

    Preston 0-0 Millwall

Things still haven't fully heated up yet in our early kick-off. Brad Potts has had a shot blocked by Millwall's Ryan Woods but that's the only main moment of note in the opening 15 minutes.

  14. Who can keep in touch with Reading?published at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2020

Bournemouth v Bristol City (19:45 GMT)

    Dominic SolankeImage source, PA Media

The Royals are seven points clear at the top of the table after playing just eight games, but tonight sixth-placed Bournemouth and fourth-placed Bristol City are both hoping to close the gap, as they go head-to-head.

They've both enjoyed good starts to the season. The unbeaten Cherries are bidding for their fourth win of the campaign and the Robins are chasing their fifth - whoever wins this game will sit second in the Championship at full-time.

  15. Postpublished at 19:12 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2020

    Preston 0-0 Millwall

It's been a quiet first 10 minutes at Deepdale but the hosts arguably look ever-so-slightly the brighter so far. No real chances yet.

  16. Reading juggernaut rolls onpublished at 19:09 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2020

    Reading celebrateImage source, PA Media

The other half of the Championship were in action on Tuesday, with Reading winning 4-2 at Blackburn to extend their lead at the top to a massive seven points - after just eight games.

Valerien Ismael got his Barnsley tenure off to a 3-0 winning start against QPR, while Wycombe held Watford for their first point and Norwich scored late (again) to draw at much-fancied Brentford.

Preston have suffered six defeats in their past eight league games at Deepdale, which is as many defeats as they endured in the previous 29 matches beforehand. An unusual run of home form for them.
