New signing Ruben Dias is set to make his Manchester City debut at Leeds tomorrow.

Dias joined City for £65m on Tuesday and Guardiola confirmed the Portugal international has trained for the last two days.

"He was good," said the City boss. "He is part of the team right now but we are training tomorrow and then we will decide."

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has ruled Ilkay Gundogan out of tomorrow's game at Leeds.

Gundogan has returned to the City training ground after his positive coronavirus test but after 15 days with no training, Guardiola wants the Germany midfielder to build up his fitness during the international break.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola could not have praised Leeds counterpart Marcelo Bielsa any more ahead of tomorrow's meeting at Elland Road.

"He is probably the person I admire the most in world football as a manager and as a person," said Guardiola.

"I think he is the most authentic manager all the time in terms of how he conducts his teams, he is unique."

Crystal Palace

Roy Hodgson says Crystal Palace's injury situation is starting to improve, though not in time for tomorrow's game against Chelsea.

"Players are gradually coming back but have been out for a while and aren't ready to go back into the team," said the former England boss.

"This week we've seen the re-emergence of Gary Cahill, James Tomkins and Patrick van Aanholt in training."

Hodgson also welcomed the news that referees will have more discretion when making handball decisions. The Eagles were on the wrong side of a controversial penalty decision against Everton last weekend.

"I welcome the idea of referees having more room for subjective decisions on the field," he said. "Though I was not attempting to start any debate with my comments after Everton."

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says the club "know my view" about transfer activity before the window closes on Monday.

While some rivals have added to their squads significantly, United's only signing is Netherlands midfielder Donny van de Beek, who cost £40m from Ajax.

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson does not expect the Eagles to bring in many more new faces before the deadline, playing down rumours of a bid for Brentford's Said Benrahma.

"We are not desperately searching any more and it is more a case of one or two players who have not played much over the last couple of seasons now showing what they can do," he said.

"Bottom line is there is no real dialogue between us and Brentford and we certainly haven't discussed buying a player for that position, but who knows."

Crystal Palace

Wilfried Zaha has been continually linked with a move away from Crystal Palace for more than a year - but Roy Hodgson says he will not consider any last-minute offers before Monday's deadline.

"I have been told and Wilf has had it made clear that we are not interested in late bids," said Hodgson.

"If it was going to happen, it would need to happen in a time frame to see what we could do. I hope it will not happen now and I want to continue working with him."

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp says midfielder Jordan Henderson's inclusion in England squad is a “win-win” as he can use the time to get match fit.

Liverpool's club captain has been out with a hamstring injury for several weeks, but is close to a return.

Meanwhile, Klopp would not be drawn on reports striker Rhian Brewster is on the verge of signing for Sheffield United.

"I cannot respond to wider news. Nothing is announceable," he said.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been speaking about academy product Curtis Jones' performance in the League Cup last-16 tie against Arsenal on Thursday.

The German says he takes "a lot of pleasure" from "being around big talent and watching them grow up and mature".

"Curtis is a proper part of this squad and that is already an achievement - it is something he can tell his grandkids," Klopp said of the midfielder.

"Nobody would have bad sleep the night before a Premier League game if I told them Curtis was playing".

On 19-year-old Jones being called up to the England Under-21 squad for the first time, Klopp added: "It is logical that he has been chosen for the under-21s for England and he is ahead of his age group."

David Scott: Excellent draw for Glasgow Rangers in Europa League

Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Cuisance's proposed transfer to Leeds United has fallen through.

The 21-year-old, who has represented France up to under-20 level, was close to joining Marcelo Bielsa's side, having signed for Bayern from Borussia Monchengladbach for £10m in 2019.

It has not been confirmed why the deal has collapsed.

Cuisance made 10 appearances for the European champions in 2019-20, scoring one goal.

Bayern manager Hans-Dieter Flick is set to speak to the media on Saturday.

Leeds have already spent about £73m on four major signings since they were promoted to the Premier League as Championship title-winners last season.

Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has confirmed right-back Matt Lowton will not be fit to face Newcastle on Saturday.

However, centre-back James Tarkowski and striker Ashley Barnes are available and could feature.

"He was chomping at the bait to come back but we had to be careful, we gave him a games programme, which he came through fine and it was great to see him back on Wednesday," Dyche said after Barnes returned to the side for the EFL Cup loss to Manchester City in midweek.

Robbie Brady and Johann Berg Gudmundsson are also doubts for the trip to Newcastle.
