    Brentford 1-0 QPR

It's all gone rather scrappy in Lancashire.

Sunderland are still on top possession wise but both sides are struggling to create clearcut chances.

    25 minutes gone.

    Brentford 1-0 QPR

Almost a second for Brentford after QPR keeper Seny Dieng gifts them an opening.

He passes the ball straight to Emiliano Marcondes on the edge of the area but the Danish midfielder sees his shot saved as Dieng makes amends for his error.

    Brentford 1-0 QPR

That goal has rather come against the run of play in the opening quarter of an hour.

But for all of QPR's possession, the visitors have not mustered a shot on target as yet.

GOAL: Brentford 1-0 QPRpublished at 14 mins

    Vitaly Janelt

    There's the opener!

The Bees work the ball nicely on the right and Ivan Toney flicks Bryan Mbeumo's cross on to Rico Henry.

The box is congested and the left-back lays it back to the edge of the area.

Vitaly Janelt drills in a low left-footed shot from 25 yards which finds the bottom right-hand corner of the Rangers net.

It's the German's first goal for Brentford.

    Brentford 0-0 QPR

QPR have another corner, but the Bees clear and threaten to counter-attack.

Bryan Mbeumo doesn't put enough on his attempted through ball to Tariqe Fosu, and it's cut out by a back-tracking Rangers defender.

  7. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Brentford 0-0 QPR

Ethan Pinnock pings a ball over the top and out to the left looking for Brentford winger Tariqe Fosu, but the ball rolls out of play.

Then Rico Henry wildly overhits a cross which Bryan Mbeumo controls brilliantly at the back stick.

The Frenchman is forced back and then shoots at goal from 25 yards out, and it's a straightforward save for visiting keeper Seny Dieng.

    Fleetwood 0-0 Sunderland

Sunderland have enjoyed the brighter opening at Highbury Stadium with Denver Hume carving out a couple of chances.

First the full-back sent a shot from distance wide, before his strike after a clever one-two with Charlie Wyke was saved by Jayson Leutwiler.

Josh Morris has also gone into the book for Fleetwood.

  9. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Brentford 0-0 QPR

The corner comes to nothing after a poor delivery, but QPR have settled well and look really comfortable on the ball.

  10. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Brentford 0-0 QPR

Decent spell of possession for QPR inside the Brentford half, but Ilias Chair is crowded out by the home defence as he looks to get into the box.

The R's work it back out to the right and Bright Osayi-Samuel wins the first corner of the game.

  11. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Brentford 0-0 QPR

Bright Osayi-Samuel gets an early chance to take on Rico Henry, and he leaves the Brentford left-back on his backside in the area.

But the R's winger can't make room for a cross and the supporting Todd Kane has his attempted centre cut out.

Tonight's sole game in League One sees in-form Fleetwood Town take on Wearside giants Sunderland.

Five wins in their past six league matches has seen Joey Barton's Cod Army climb to seventh. They've also been scoring for fun over the past couple of weeks with a 4-1 victory at Bristol Rovers followed by a 5-1 home thumping of Plymouth on Saturday.

Sunderland are struggling to click into top gear at home, but are unbeaten in their six away games this season.

A point for Fleetwood would take them into the play-offs, but the Black Cats need to win to move into the top six.

There's no doubt where Brentford's goal threat comes from.

Summer signing Ivan Toney has netted 11 times for the Bees in the league this season, going some way to replace the attacking contributions of the now-departed Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma.

Bright Osayi-Samuel was the man running the show for QPR against Rotherham on Tuesday.

The winger scored one, set one up and saw two other efforts hit the woodwork.

Ilias Chair and Lyndon Dykes are the Hoops' joint-top scorers with four goals - and all of the latter's strikes have come from the penalty spot.

Brentford come into this one unbeaten in six games - although four of those matches have been drawn.

The Bees have kept three successive clean sheets but have only mustered one goal in the same timeframe, which was Ivan Toney's winner at Barnsley on Tuesday.

QPR are two without defeat, but have lost their past three games against Brentford - conceding three goals each time.

And the R's have lost 18 of their past 19 games played on a Friday. Ouch.

Rangers boss Mark Warburton will be looking to turn around their fortunes on his return to his former club.
