Burnley

Aside from the lack of wins so far, Burnley boss Sean Dyche has a series of injuries to concern him ahead of Monday's home game with eighth-placed Crystal Palace.

Full-backs Phil Bardsley and Erik Pieters, wingers Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Robbie Brady, midfielder Dale Stephens and defender Charlie Taylor all have to be monitored, Dyche explains.

"Pieters is coming back through and has been training this week, Bardsley is fit and well, JBG has a minor calf issue, Brady minor hamstring issue, Stephens hamstring, Taylor has a niggle on his Achilles and (Jack) Cork is making progress."

Burnley

No wins and just two draws for Burnley so far this season - and only three goals scored, the fewest in the league.

Sean Dyche's team are one place off the bottom and face Crystal Palace at home on Monday afternoon.

Dyche says of the challenge of facing the Eagles, "they're a good side, an experienced side with an experienced manager, there's some quality players there and plenty of pace."

Wayne Rooney and Liam Rosenior have been facing the media as joint-temporary managers of Derby County, who are currently bottom of the Championship.

The Rams travel to Bristol City on Saturday but just what can we expect from a Wayne Rooney side?

"I've worked with some very good managers, possibly greatest of all time," Rooney said.

"Not going to say I am going to do it like Sir Alex Ferguson because you have to work with the players you have got, you have to manage players correctly. But there are things you can take from other managers.

"I am ambitious. I want to go into management. I have been quite open about that. There is an opportunity to show the different ideas you have. I want to be a manager one day. I don’t know how long it (Derby situation) lasts."

More injury news from Crystal Palace ahead of Monday's visit to Burnley and Roy Hodgson will check on Eberechi Eze, who started and scored in the 4-1 win over Leeds earlier this month.

Former Queens Park Rangers midfielder Eze, who joined Palace in a deal worth nearly £20m over the summer, withdrew from the England Under-21 squad this week after feeling some muscle tightness.

"Eze's been very good right from the start," Hodgson said of the 22-year-old. "His adaptation has been seamless. He's earned the respect in the squad with the talent he's shown... We will assess his fitness."

More from Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson, whose team travel to face a Burnley side still looking for their first league win of the season and languishing only one place off the bottom of the table, with just two points.

The Clarets - who have Radio 1 DJ and I'm A Celebrity contestant Jordan North among their fanbase - finished 10th last season, four places higher than Hodgson's Eagles.

Ahead of Monday's game, Palace are eighth, having beaten Leeds 4-1 last time out. "We are only a few matches into the season," Hodgson says. "Burnley were quite low down at this stage of last season and ended up finishing very well."

More from Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson, who is asked whether it is a dilemma to choose between 21-year-old Academy product Tyrick Mitchell and Netherlands international Patrick van Aanholt, 30, for the left-back berth.

Both have occupied the role this term and Hodgson says: "They're not dilemmas when you've got a good choice. They're both very good players."

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace travel to Turf Moor for a Monday tea-time kick-off and manager Roy Hodgson has provided some early team news regarding defenders Tyrick Mitchell and James Tomkins.

"Tyrick and Tomkins both trained today and are fit. Martin Kelly also joined training following an injury he picked up. We're now waiting to see how our internationals come back."

Chelsea

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard adds that he has not seen left-back Ben Chilwell since the international break but he is hopeful he will be okay.

However, the travelling burden placed on his team, plus fixture congestion is not helping player welfare or the Premier League as a product.

"We have been training with four players in the last week or two," Lampard said.

"The majority of our squad have been travelling, they are just getting back now. They will fly up to Newcastle, fly back, fly to Rennes on Tuesday and then back. When you look at the scheduling the broadcasters have never had as many slots. How much does that 12:30 slot need to be there?

"It is absolutely not the optimum way to have players preparing for Premier League games. Player injuries are going up across the league, the numbers are there if the Premier League wants to look at them. Zero pre-season, the schedule is tighter and if we want to handle them as best we can and look after the players, change the 12:30 time."

Chelsea

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard says comments made by Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden on fans returning to grounds are the most positive he has heard:

"I am optimistic having heard him speak. It is something the government have not been vocal enough on.

"We as a public want to know whether it is positive or negative. Today is the most positive I have heard. It was not factual and I understand why not because it has to be safe first and foremost.

"But when we see other areas of life having controlled gatherings that are safe, of course as football we have to look at it.

"I am positive I thought it was a good interview. Let's hope it gets acted on and we can get fans back at whatever level to start with."

Chelsea

On the subject of former players who now have dementia, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard says action is needed:

"It's concerning. We have to support ex players and their families in this position.

"In the times and era they played we didn't have and weren't as advanced as we are now in terms of the research and [having] proper medical reasons for why dementia has been brought on. We have to act now and not be sitting on a problem."

More from Chelsea manager Frank Lampard on the need to reintroduce five substitutes: "I think it is something we have to address with all clubs. Nothing has changed in our professional environment since the restart in fact it has become more hectic.

"My main concern is player welfare, who are under incredible stress, particularly those at clubs who are playing in Europe.

"I don't want people to cry their eyes out for players because we know how lucky we are but everywhere else across Europe seem to have five subs."

More from Chelsea manager Frank Lampard: "We are still waiting on some results with the tests that we have to do. Unfortunately some of our players are only arriving back this afternoon, some played last night so with the 12:30 kick off on Saturday we have a lot of challenges.

On Mason Mount: "I am impressed with his development. It shows you how much Gareth [Southgate] and Steve [Holland] rely on him. I have in my time in management. I think it's nice to see positivity around him.

"It is well deserved. He is a player that has more quality passes and pressing runs than a showreel of stepovers and flicks and it is not as exciting to the modern fan. But us managers of him rely on him.

"The good thing about Mason is he has a good attitude and he is a fit young man. He is coming back to train this afternoon."

That is his role today though as he takes charge of Derby, alongside Liam Rosenior, Shay Given and Justin Walker, for Saturday's Championship game with Bristol City.

Phillip Cocu was sacked at the weekend and Derby are still to decide on his replacement as a much-publicised takeover nears completion.

Chelsea

Next up in front of the media is Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.

The Blues are currently fifth in the Premier League table after winning their last two games but have lost five and drawn one of their last seven trips to St James’ Park in the Premier League.

So a bit of bogey ground basically.

And it sounds like they could be without some key players.

Lampard says that Christian Pulisic is not fit. Kai Havertz's isolation after contracting coronavirus is over but he has been training on his own and Thiago Silva has just landed back in the UK and probably won't travel to the North East.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Graham Potter has his captain Lewis Dunk is available for selection after serving a suspension for the red card he picked up against Crystal Palace.

And it looks as though the skipper is straight back in...

"Lewis is our captain and a fantastic player, he’ll go straight back into the team this weekend," Potter said.

"To improve (during the international break) we've looked at what we've done well and the things we can develop and get better at.

"It's a continual process, we can improve in all areas. The mood has been good and the guys have been working hard."

Brighton & Hove Albion

More from the Brighton boss Graham Potter: "I've been impressed with Aston Villa. They have invested well.

"They're a side that have a lot of talented players and one of the best in the league at the moment in Jack Grealish. Dean Smith has done a fantastic job.

On Danny Welbeck: "He is developing very nicely. He came very late in the window so he needed some time with the team.

He’s getting stronger all the time, has made an impression and is enjoying himself with the group."

Brighton & Hove Albion

Now it is time to hear what Brighton boss Graham Potter has to say.

The Seagulls head to high-flying Aston Villa on Saturday looking to pick up their second win of the season as they try to put some distance between themselves and the clubs in the bottom three.

Potter begins by confirming that Aaron Connolly and Solly March are back in training, although there are doubts over Davy Propper (illness) and Leandro Trossard.

Alexis Mac Allister will also be unavailable.

Manchester City

Before we get to the other Premier League news conferences here is what Pep Guardiola has had to say about signing a new two-year deal with Manchester City.

“Ever since I arrived at Manchester City I have been made to feel so welcome in the club and in the city itself- from the players, the staff, the supporters, the people of Manchester and the chairman and owner," he said.

"Since then we have achieved a great deal together, scored goals, won games and trophies, and we are all very proud of that success.

“Having that kind of support is the best thing any manager can have. I have everything I could possibly want to do my job well and I am humbled by the confidence the owner, chairman, Ferran [Soriano] and Txiki [Begiristain] have shown in me to continue for two more years after this season.

“The challenge for us is to continue improving and evolving, and I am very excited and about helping Manchester City do that.”

Tottenham Hotspur

Women's Super League side Tottenham Hotspur have sacked co-head coaches Karen Hills and Juan Amoros.

The pair signed new two-year deals in September, but Spurs are next-to-bottom of the WSL table, and winless in their first seven league games this term.

Hills has been in charge of the club since 2007, while Amoros was appointed to work alongside her in 2011.

They led the club to promotion to the Women's Super League in 2018-19 and finished seventh last season.
