Nervous moment in the Real Madrid defence as Thibaut Courtois doesn't punch away cleanly and the ball drops to the feet of Vicente Iborra but his shot is blocked. Looks like Real would have got a free kick anyway for a foul on Courtois.

Thibaut Courtois is off his line quickly and charges out of his box to beat Gerard Moreno to a ball over the top. The flag's up for offside anyway but Courtois stayed alert.

And now Real Madrid make changes as Eden Hazard and Martin Odegaard are replaced by Vinícius Júnior and Isco.

Changes for the hosts as Manu Trigueros, Alfonso and Carlos Bacca are replaced by Samuel Chukwueze, Yeremi Pino and Estupinan.

Crikey. Bold football by Luka Modric as he runs along the edge of his own area, taking players on and you just feel he is going to get caught out but nope, Modric stays calm to duck and weave past all challenges before clearing.

Martin Odegaard has space 40 yards from goal but, rather than try to get into the box he goes for a hopeful shot from distance and the effort is blocked.

Luka Modric floats the ball into the box. He's looking for the run of Mariano, who appears to have shaken off that injury he was struggling with a little earlier, but the ball is too close to Sergio Asenjo in the Villarreal goal.
