Atletico boss Diego Simeone did not want to discuss Zinedine Zidane saying his side are title favourites.

"I'm not going to talk about other people's opinions," the Argentine said.

"People have their opinions and say what they believe and I respect that.

"[Real] Madrid have been competing at the top for a number of years and you have to admire that, their players and how they keep going year after year.

"We'll try to take the game where we can do them damage and I'm sure it'll be a great match to watch."

Real Madrid, the defending champions, are fourth in the table after a run of one win in four games.

"We won the league last year and we want to defend our crown and we will do that until the end," said Zinedine Zidane.

"We want to win every game and especially this one as it's a big game."

Asked if Atletico should be classed as the team to beat, Zidane replied: "Yes, definitely, they should. That is what they are showing on the pitch.

"They are top of the table and they've always been a competitive outfit in that sense. We know them well."

Dani Carvajal is back in Real Madrid's starting XI after a couple of weeks out injured.

He replaces Rodrygo, with Lucas Vazquez going back to the wing after his spell at right-back.

That is Real's only change from their 2-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach. Sergio Ramos keeps his place after a successful return from injury.
