  1. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Derby County

    Close again for Derby.

Craig Forsyth fizzes across a peach of a low cross from the left that is begging for a touch in the six-yard box from a team-mate.

It doesn't come though despite both Louie Sibley and Colin Kazim-Richards stretching out for it.

    Goal kick.

  2. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Derby County

Derby assistant boss Liam Rosenior has to briefly play ball boy and collect it from down the touchline as Derby have to wait a while to take a throw-in.

Not sure if that's a Covid-19 restriction or not, but I'm sure they were there in the first half!

  3. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Derby County

Cagey stuff once again in the early stages of this second half.

Sheffield Wednesday trying to get a bit more possession in the middle third but Derby's press off the ball is effective.

Callum Paterson's attempt to launch a long throw into the box from the left fails to find a team-mate as they look for an alternative angle of attack.

  4. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Derby County

Nathan Byrne almost dodges and weaves his way all the way through the Wednesday defence down the right.

He's stopped in his tracks just in time from the hosts' perspective.

Eventually the ball breaks out to Louie Sibley again in the area, but he can't maintain his balance to hit the target with a right-foot shot.

Anyhow, we're almost set to resume at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday players are already out there going through some warm-up routines on the touchline.

  7. Still to come on Saturday...published at 18:33 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2021

As full an EFL programme as possible

There's even more festive season football to come on Saturday.

Weather and Covid-19 restrictions permitting, there's nine more Championship fixtures on the agenda.

Eight of those kick off at 15:00 GMT while Stoke City face Bournemouth in an evening fixture from 19:45 GMT.

As we've just mentioned, two others have sadly had to be postponed earlier this evening due to Covid-19 outbreaks.

Matches have also been dropping for the past couple of days from Leagues One and Two, but as it stands, there's a further 17 matches from those two divisions as well.

We'll bring you all the action from the matches that do survive postponements right here on the BBC Sport website and app.

    Breaking

Brentford v Bristol City & Luton v QPR off

A couple of tomorrow's matches in the Championship have been called off in the past hour or so due to Covid-19.

Outbreaks in the Bristol City and Luton squads means their respective games at Brentford and at home to QPR are postponed.

That follows several postponements in the rest of the EFL. Worrying times.

  10. Elsewhere this eveningpublished at 18:23 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2021

Two Premier League fixtures to start the new year

Away from Hillsborough this evening, there's also two matches taking place in the Premier League.

Everton and West Ham is also goalless at the break while Manchester United host Aston Villa in the other game later from 20:00 GMT.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:20 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2021

Half-time arrives after Louie Sibley has a bit of a knock for Derby and then has to hobble off a few seconds early.

Hoepfully he'll be back for the resumption and some goals will also come with him.

Nothing between these two so far.

  12. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Derby County

Two minutes being added on at the end of this first half.

Wednesday with their best chance of it from a Barry Bannan free-kick that reaches the back post.

Elias Kachunga rises to meet the header but can't direct it on target.

    Almost at the break.

Wednesday will certainly be the happier to see it arrive.

Derby's momentum has just stalled a bit in the past few minutes.

They have certainly enjoyed the better of the chances and possession so far but still no reward for Wayne Rooney's side.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 38 mins

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Derby County

Well, the good news for Wednesday is that Kadeem Harris is back up and running.

But that is indeed it for Josh Windass as he is replaced by Elias Kachunga.

  16. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Derby County

Josh Windass is also in a bit of discomfort here for Wednesday.

Looks like his evening is over before half-time as he hobbles off clutching his hamstring.

  17. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Derby County

A rare foray forward for Wednesday.

Kadeem Harris with plenty of running down the right gets him to the edge of the penalty box.

He can't quite direct his cross towards Josh Windass arriving in the middle and David Marshall gathers.

Harris though is down on the deck now receiving some treatment after a knock on the foot.

  18. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Derby County

    Again Derby come close.

Wednesday fail to clear a corner on three occasions and then the ball finds its way to Krystian Bielik on the edge of the penalty area.

He lashes a left-foot effort but it swerves wide of the left post.

  19. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 29 mins

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Derby County

    Derby getting even closer now!

It's the crossbar that denies Colin Kazim-Richards this time.

A brilliant diagonal cross in from the left by Craig Forsyth picks out the run of Kazim-Richards unmarked and his header leaves Joe Wildsmith stuck in no man's land with nothing to do.

Thankfully for him and Wednesday, the ball bounces back off the bar and away to safety.

No goals yet, but Derby are beginning to crank it up and get on top.
