We should've have had 11 fixtures in the Championship this afternoon, but we're left with just eight.

Two postponements in fairly quick succession came early on Friday evening with the matches at Brentford and Luton both suspended due to Covid-19 outbreaks at Bristol City and the Hatters respectively.

Rotherham's home game against Cardiff was called off a few minutes ago because of a frozen pitch.

Another day of the festive season and yet more EFL action on the way.

As already mentioned, a wintry blast has landed across many parts of the UK this weekend while the threat of Covid-19 is still lingering even though a new year is well under way.

Many matches haven't been able to survive both of those factors.

We'll show you which have sadly had to be postponed shortly...

Good afternoon and welcome to the first EFL Saturday live text of the 2021.

Coronavrius and inclement weather mean we've got a slightly shortened fixture list but still plenty of great action to get into over the next few hours.

And, we've even got a Saturday night game as a rare treat.

    Let's get to it.
