And after a longer Saturday than usual, we are done and dusted for EFL live action this evening.

Don't forget, you can still follow the closing stages of Arsenal putting West Brom through the mill in the Premier League right here.

But, for us, it's farewell for now.

Thanks for being with us through the day, until next time!

Well after more EFL football than you could shake your Christmas stocking at over the past week or so, it kind of takes a bit of a back seat now for the coming week.

The FA Cup third round is due to take centre stage next weekend, which will of course tie up all the teams in the Championship plus a fair few more in Leagues One and Two.

There are still however a clutch of matches taking place in midweek and on Friday night dotted around the fixture schedule so keep your eyes peeled across the BBC Sport website and app in the coming days for all the latest news and match reports.

Good luck to Brentford too in the EFL Cup semi-final on Tuesday against Spurs.

    FT: Stoke City 0-1 Bournemouth

Confirmation then of Bournemouth's climb back up to third.

Stoke stay eighth which is where they were before kick-off, but it's actually a drop from seventh after the earlier scores this afternoon.

    All over.

It wasn't a classic by any stretch but Bournemouth stuck in there long enough to take the opportunity to win it when it came.

Junior Stanislas with the goal that separates these two and lifts the Cherries back up to third.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 90+5 mins

    Stoke City 0-1 Bournemouth

Harry Souttar's turn to be booked for Stoke as he fouls Dominic Solanke in his attempt to race clear on halfway.

    Time almost up.

    Stoke City 0-1 Bournemouth

Bournemouth hit Stoke on the break again.

David Brooks engineering the through balls.

Joshua King nearly gets on the end before Nathan Collins tackles him and concedes a corner.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 90+2 mins

    Stoke City 0-1 Bournemouth

Stoke at full stretch trying to commit men forward in search of a leveller.

Bournemouth almost catch them on the counter but then Jefferson Lerma gets a yellow for a foul.

    Stoke City 0-1 Bournemouth

Stoke corner. Sam Clucas swings it in.

Asmir Begovic comes out and misses the punch initially but his team-mates in light blue do enough to clear eventually.

    Stoke City 0-1 Bournemouth

So close to being 2-0 to Bournemouth and another goal for Junior Stanislas.

Dominic Solanke with a brilliantly powerful and tricky run down the left and inside across the byline before squaring the ball to space in the box.

Stanislas ran on to it to strike goalward but there were Stoke bodies across just in time to block it.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 85 mins

    Stoke City 0-1 Bournemouth

Adam Smith makes way with that knock for Bournemouth.

Joshua King is on in his place in attack.

    Last five minutes plus change....

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 84 mins

    Stoke City 0-1 Bournemouth

Painful moment for Adam Smith as he clashes with Jacob Brown.

Clutching his knee a bit after that tangle is the Bournemouth wing-back.

Sam Vokes meanwhile is on for James McClean and Tommy Smith makes way for Josh Tymon in a double change for Stoke.

My word did this game need a goal.

Nice finish too from Junior Stanislas for his seventh league goal of the season.

Can Stoke still rescue something here?

GOAL: Stoke City 0-1 Bournemouthpublished at 79 mins

    Junior Stanislas

    Breakthrough!

Bournemouth get ahead with just over 10 minutes to go.

Lewis Cook with a lovely long ball dinked over the top between the two Stoke centre-backs and Junior Stanislas runs on to it before slotting it under the body of Josef Bursik for the opener.

Is that a result-clinching goal as well?

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 72 mins

    Stoke City 0-0 Bournemouth

David Brooks straight into the thick of the action.

He is fouled by James McClean who is the third Stoke player booked for that lunge on halfway.

But before that, Wales international Brooks showed just a hint of the way he can quickly open space with through balls. Sadly his team-mates couldn't convert it into a chance.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 70 mins

    Stoke City 0-0 Bournemouth

Sam Clucas' first act is to be fouled by Lewis Cook on the left touchline to win a free-kick.

Stoke then give away one themselves as the ball goes into the box and there's too much jostling for space in the air.

Bournemouth with the change now - Sam Surridge off and David Brooks on.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 68 mins

    Stoke City 0-0 Bournemouth

Sam Clucas on for Jordan Thompson in midfield for Stoke.

Thompson picked up a yellow card earlier in this second half.

    Ball is in the net!

But, it's not going to count for Stoke because Nick Powell has fouled Steve Cook as the ball has been fired in low from the right.

James McClean tapped it in but the whistle had already gone.

And we're back to bit of footballing chess again...

Lots of the ball in the middle third and not much in either penalty area.

    Needs a spark this match.
