  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 83 mins

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

I was just writing that Newport are struggling to create even a half chance but a cross from the right ends up at the feet of captain Josh Sheehan and his low-drilled effort is saved well by the feet of Jason Steele.

    What a chance that was!

  2. CLOSE!published at 21:20 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January 2021

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

    Brighton are really pressing now.

A long ball is eventually nodded into the path of Neal Maupay and his effort is deflected wide.

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

"We will get a chance", says Michael Flynn on the touchline.

I've just remembered the last game I live texted finished 6-0, so I fear I may have used up all my goals then. Apologies.

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

Less than 15 minutes of normal time to go at Rodney Parade now.

Are we going to get a winner? Brighton feel the most likely right now as Solly March lashes a long-range effort over the bar.

    This could go either way.

The pressing has been better from Newport in this half.

Aleksander Pagels: Not an opinion of mine but I'm interested whether anyone want replays also to be scrapped in a covid-free season? Callum, can't you ask readers here by asking us to thumbs up or down for the idea?

Aleksander you ask, and I will deliver.

Thumbs up for no replays, thumbs down for replays...

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:14 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January 2021

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

Third change for Brighton as South African forward Percy Tau replaces Alireza Jahanbakhsh for his debut.

Tau was signed by Brighton, and Chris Hughton, in 2018 but has been unable to get a work permit until this season. He played in the Champions League for Club Bruges against Manchester United last season.

  8. CLOSE!published at 69 mins

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

    Almost for Brighton!

There's good link-up play down the right, and Lewis Dunk goes down in the area, but the ball breaks free for Davy Propper and his effort goes just wide of the post.

Was that a penalty on Lewis Dunk? There's no VAR at Rodney Parade but it did look like the centre-half had this feet taken from underneath him.

Conor McNamara has just compared Lewis Dunk's touch to Franz Beckenbauer's.

25 minutes left at Rodney Parade.

A reminder there are no replays in the FA Cup this year, so we'll go to extra-time and then penalties if need be.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 21:06 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January 2021

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

Changes galore - two for each side.

Newport take off Padraig Amond and Jamie Devitt and bring on Lewis Collins and Ryan Taylor.

Leandro Trossard and Davy Propper replace Alexis Mac Allister and Andi Zeqiri for Brighton.

  12. Postpublished at 62 mins

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

Good work from Ben White as he nutmegs Ryan Haynes and gets into the area but his effort is wild and it flies over the bar.

  13. Postpublished at 21:03 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January 2021

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

Michael Flynn may be the best thing about this second half - it's gone back to being dire.

He screams "LINNNOOO" as he thinks the ball has got out for a throw-in but shouting "he ain't catching up" as full-back Ryan Haynes bombs forward but it comes to nothing.

  14. Postpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January 2021

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

Mickey Demetriou has started hurling some long throw-ins into the Brighton area but Graham Potter's side have dealt with both well so far.

We're 10 minutes into the second half, at what stage does Potter turn to Leandro Trossard?

  15. Postpublished at 20:56 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January 2021

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

Brighton have settled down a bit now.

They manage to string a few passes together and Ben White cuts back onto his left-foot and puts it into the area but Andi Zeqiri's header goes over the bar.

    Better from the Seagulls though.

  16. Postpublished at 20:55 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January 2021

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

Michael Flynn is still barking out instructions on the touchline.

He's quick to praise his side as a good bit of pressing sees them win the ball back.

    Jayne Ludlow

Brighton have been a little loose in their possession at the start of this second half.

They're not as composed as they started the first.

  18. Postpublished at 50 mins

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

Newport have started the better of the two sides in his half as Jamie Devitt finds space about 25 yards out but his effort is dragged wide of the target.

  19. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Newport 0-0 Brighton

That's a bit of a waste from Ryan Haynes.

The Newport left-back gets one on one with Ben White in the penalty area but tries to cut in on his right foot, but then decides against the shot and he's eventually closed out.

  20. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:47 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January 2021

Will we get a winner or are we going all the way?
