Callum Robinson crosses for Shane Long but a Serbia defender gets there first to head away.

In all honesty, I don't see Ireland scoring an equaliser here.

The moment the ball landed to him, you knew he was going to chip because Mark Travers was stranded. But trying that and scoring it are different things.

Dusan Tadic plays the ball into the path of substitute Aleksandar Mitrovic, who spots Mark Travers off his line and sends a perfect first-time chip over the keeper and into the back of the net from 30 yards out.

SUBSTITUTION

Interesting. Aaron Connolly is replaced by Shane Long, who is by far and away their top scorer still playing. Long hasn't played much for his country recently.

Ireland forward Aaron Connolly has cramped up and needs treatment. He hasn't played much for Brighton recently. He was injured and got in trouble for inviting a woman to his house during lockdown.

Just before that Serbia sub, they went close to taking the lead as Dusan Vlahovic was inches away from turning home an off-target shot at the back post.
