    Serbia 3-2 Republic of Ireland

Ireland started well in Belgrade but I'm not sure they really deserved anything based on the 90 minutes. They did at least treble the goal tally of Stephen Kenny's reign.

A winning start then for Serbia boss Dragan Stojkovic thanks to Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic and ex-Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic.
