Ben Ashton: Arsenal need a serious clearout and overhaul. So many players simply not good enough to play for the club. Elneny, Willian, Pepe, Nketiah all bang average lower to mid-table players - get rid asap. Put out a mediocre side, get a mediocre result.

Lewis Hully: Well, Not sure what to say about Arteta other than your decisions baffle half of us Arsenal fans Why would you play a mediocre squad against a team that will be playing their strongest side. Play something familiar and unchanged because it’s our strongest team

Southampton were by far the better team, they had more attempts on goal and Arsenal just were not up for it. It was an opportunity for a lot of players to stamp their authority on it, which they didn't do.

They had one effort on goal, which is not good enough.

Have to question Mikel Arteta's team selection here. A second string team against an in form Southampton team away from home. Elneny, Nketiah, Pepe and Willian will not win you this game.

    Davina

Pepe is dreadful 72million for what? I'd rather ozil over him! Todays line up spelt defeat before K.O yes I'm an arsenal fan very disgusted by the club last few years.

The delivery from Arsenal has been poor all day, he just lifted that over the bar and he needs to do a lot better than that.

Danny Ings has been brilliant, after the Covid and everything, his work-rate has been tremendous.

Shane Long is on for Danny Ings. If Southampton get this over the line, they will have had a very good afternoon with both Che Adams and Danny Ings being taken off to rest before the full 90 minutes.
